Here is a video on how i sample live drum breaks to create some interesting unique Boom Bap Drums for my Hip Hop Sample Based Beats on the Akai MPC ONE but this will work in any sampler Native Instruments Maschine, Ableton Push 2 or any other sequencer sampler you work with. In this video i will show you chopping drum breaks and chopping samples on the mpc one machine. If you guys want to know how to make a boom bap beat well i hope this video can help especially when it comes to coming up with your own live drum breaks and chopping them up for a unique hip hop sequence.

Kids the most important part of this video - polarity. Especially with kick drums.

What I love about this video is how universal the process is. You can take this technique and make it work in a DAW using your own sampler and sampling techniques. I also love how you go about recording your drums. I also do this because I'm not very good at finger drumming lol but the results still turn out great 👍. Very well done ✅ Really loved this video for some reason. And I don't even have an MPC Stand Alone or use the software.

Your stuff always applies to production in general. I’m not an MPC owner but I watch all your clips. Always learn something new.

Keep coming back to your videos, partly cos of the technical content but also cos you come across as such a straight up guy.

Tried it in Cubase, which has tons of possibilities, but on the MPC is still so much easier and most importantly much more fun and creative

  • Just found your channel yesterday I think... when searching for more videos on the MPC Studio MK2... really dig your channel, vibe... great camerawork/lighting and angles. You don't seem cocky at all man, and that's such a nice thing to see. Look forward to the future of your channel, bro.
