Why Naruto Feels So Damn Good to Watch

Beginning as a serialized manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in September of 1999, the Naruto show would first premiere in October of 2002, and the Naruto brand would go on to become one of the most iconic anime, and arguably fictional brands, in the world. The series follows the journey of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja with dreams of becoming the strongest ninja and leader of his village, known as the Hokage.

When I think back on this show, there’s a welling up of emotions I get, and reminiscing on my time watching the show brings about a question: what is it about this show that, for lack of a better term, hits so different? I’ve watched many shows, yet no show seemed to consistently bring about that same emotional high that this show brought me time and again. It was only with reflection and research I concluded that Naruto continuously establishes earned moments of extravagant catharsis in a way I have yet to experience from a show since.

In this video, we will explore why Naruto is the most cathartic show that I have ever watched.

The catharsis of Itachi telling Sasuke that he will always love him 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 The catharsis of Naruto’s fistbump to Kurama right before the final rasengan/ chidori clash and the slower version of the soundtrack plays 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This is the first positive Naruto video I've seen in years. I'm glad there are other people who still prefer hope over despair when it comes to storytelling.

I first watched the whole run (minus filler) of shippuden while feverish with covid. Best illness ever! My most emotional moment was with Hinata quoting Naruto, that's my ninja way, as she stood between him and Pain. I don't think any media has got to me like that.

I started watching Naruto as a freshman in high school. I read the manga weekly until it ended. The journey hits different when you grew up with Naruto.

Sasuke retrieval Arc was Peak Naruto, all the battles were insane and managed to keep getting better

Jiraya asking Konan and Nagato "Is this how you treat you old sensei?" when he meets up with her an one of the paths of pain. It just hits like a truckfull of bricks, when you experienced something similar in real life.

Best show ever written. Most rewatchable show ever written, nothing even comes close and I’ve watched 1000s of shows.

Imo, my favorite moment was Naruto reaching KCM. The build up and catharsis was amazing. Naruto finally having reached clarity with the darkness that plagued his existence since birth was one of the best in the series and it really makes you feel rewarded for going on this journey with him and seeing his struggles.

The Pain Arc is basically where Naruto finally matured.

Love the show. I have watched many animes including Onepiece, HxH and AoT but Naruto will always be my favourite.

Spent most of my teenage and early 20's with Naruto, waiting on a weekly basis for a new Manga episode is one of the best things to do. I miss that feeling, being able to look forward for a weekly hang-out with a friend. :(
  • Naruto is absolutely the GOAT 🔥 it's the successor to DBZ and the emotions and action you witness in this show are unparalleled. I don't think I've ever cried harder when Minato and Kushina died or when Naruto found out Jiraiya died. I don't think I've been in more shock and awe and happiness when SM Naruto appeared Or felt more awesome shock and despair when Pain annihilated the village and Madara annihilated the Alliance
