"My tank was blown up by an IED and I was sent 40ft in the air"

Published 2023-06-05
Lance Corporal Murray Hambro was serving in Afghanistan in 2010 when the tank he was commanding drove over a huge roadside IED. The injuries he suffered were devastating.
Struggling to cope with life as a double amputee, things spiralled further downhill when he lost his son, Louis, to a terminal illness when he was just two-years-old.
But with the support of family, friends, military charities and a love affair with superbikes, Murray has rebuilt his life.

  • From one combat veteran to another, I love you dude. Not only have you pushed through your injuries. You also lost a son and continued to push through when most would’ve given up. Continue to stay strong and stay in the fight. Much love from Texas 🤙

Having to take your son of life support is one of those things that's 1,000,000% okay to cry about. Parents shouldn't be the ones burying their children.
  • My god like this incredibly brave man hasn't suffered enough, but his spirit isn't broken he's one tough guy , RESPECT and I'm so sorry you lost your son ❤❤

Jesus Christ, how did this get suggested to me? I watched my son go the same way February 17th 2007. This was fucking tough to watch. I'm damn glad that Mr. Hambro is doing ok though. All of our veterans deserve more than the government gives them.

As a former Special Forces member, your level of commitment is commendable. Is there a way that I can support the Veteran's Foundation from Australia?
