It's been a while since I managed to share a podcast interview! But as they say, it is better late than never, so let me share this casual and very entertaining as always, conversation with the infamous Damo Mitchell @LotusNeiGongrecorded in the break room in one of his martial arts, Qigong and Neigong schools in charming Ubud, Bali, Indonesia (lotusneigong.com/).

In this chat between close friends, we rant about the martial arts learning process, the exploitation and abuse in the Taichi, Qigong and Neigong world that many turn a blind eye to and make excuses for, mistranslation of key classical texts, the importance of accountability for teachers, the essential role of precepts and ethics and more! Trigger warning, many controversial views and topics are discussed, with traces of profanities and colourful language!

As I clear my podcast interview backlog, painfully slow as it maybe, I will be sharing informative and perhaps also impactful conversations with master Chen Zhonghua @Practicalmethod and cigku Maul Mornie @Maul565 not to mention master Richard Huang from Taipei, Taiwan. Stay tuned!

If fate compels you to keep an eye out for more shenanigans involving this madman Joey Nishad @bewholeyoga with the most sincere apologies in advance, you can find the trouble you are looking for, in the seedy outfits below.

Introverts run the risk of disappearing into their “pratyahara” introspection. Hence i like the martial aspect. When we close our eyes we just fall into our release process. Eyes open we embrace our surroundings.See it, know it, yet it does not concern us that much. We see “out” yet look within. I experience that ,again counter intuitive, we get greater clarity when we look within while still seeing the “outside” world

“If you can develop a high degree of attention, free from intention then your body will start to produce qi” Yi dao qi dao

The amount of sexual need and predation in the “yoga” scene is staggering. Not to brag, but i found it easy, when i teach my mind is on the art. I never stray. Or i immediately self correct. Not to say i never had a relationship with a fellow practitioner who may have been i my class. I think that open is key. We know shame when we act wrong. So when we are open and there is no shame… well we are acting with our priorities right. Teaching these arts gets us sexual attention and opportunity .We can notice. But if we are in it for the right reasons there is no comparison, right?.The undeniable burning desire to self realize vs trowing it away for unskillfull, uncultivated behavior

Clicked to watch thinking I might learn something about Taiji. Could only watch 15 minutes. Have no clue about why the psychology of chidren or how adults should act in personal relationships is not better taught by psychology/sociology professors or parents.

He never revealed his teachers names, and how did he communicate with them in China speaking no Chinese? Very dubious.
