Fear not my sons, there is still hope, you can still find good deals occasionally on auction. Thanks for watching(:
  • @EL-mq3tb
Boomers will tell you a Mosin is worth $50 then proceed to sell one at a gun show for $800 “I know what I’ve got son, this here is a piece of history!”

When you can buy an M1a for the same price as an M1 Garand. That's when you know the market is fucked.
  • @rurallegendstv
Gunbroker is the bane of the surplus market. Especially for M1s. People get rebarreled M1s from CMP for like 700-1000. Since they are the "special" grade they jump on gun broker, title the ad "RARE WW2 ERA M1 GARAND CMP SPECIAL RACK GRADE. $1700 Starting bid with a buy now of 2500. Its stupid and unreasonable.
  • I want to see some companies make more reproduction firearms. I don't necessarily want an antique (though I sure ain't against it!), I want a gun I can take hunting or to the range.
  • Type 99s are still cheap. Only because the ammo is hard to get. I think the only milsurps that will stay cheap are those with more difficult to get ammunition. 100 rounds are as expensive as the rifle.

Norma does 6.5x52 carcano aswell, I am pretty lucky my local shop here in Australia gets a pretty handy stock of surplus. Especially carcano after I got mine. Parts for surplus is going up now try finding a carcano clip at a good price, lucky I got my 6 before prices jumped

I have an original 1886 winchester chambered in 40-65 with a custom order factory made open-ring peep-sight. It belonged to my great-great grandfather. The peep sight is worth more than the rifle. The ammount some people are willing to pay for an original 1886 winchester is unbelievable. I wish I could shake my great-great grandfathers hand because he picked a winner.
  • I found a broom handle Mauser and a luger at a local gun show going for $4000 and ~$3700 respectively. If I had that kind of cash to drop, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
  • I have a G43 (was luck enough to get it for $1250 a few years ago). I would like to get a G41 this year before they start hitting five figures.
  • @smallebige
Him after duct taping on a mosin Oh father Stalin I have sin Image having a Albanian sks oh man
  • @baneofbanes
I wouldn’t mind the sporterized guns so much if people didn’t ask mint condition prices for them
  • @txgunguy2766
I have a SMLE no4 that was sporterized in the 60s by a company out of California. They called it the "Santa Fe Mountaineer". I paid about $160 for it at a gun shop that specialized in AR-15s.
  • just as a psa: STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM PRECISION CARTIGE INC. all they do is take ppu brass (or starline) and reload it while charging out the ass. and their reloads are inconsistent as hell. I got some 6.5 arisaka from them. some rounds would fire. others wouldn't. and there was a deep indent on the primer. so yay i now have to go do their fucking job for them.
  • Sometime ago I was GIVEN a sporterized K98 in pretty rough shape. I have been painstakingly attempting to restore that piece as close as I can to it’s 1941 specs. Parts ain’t cheap but it’ll be worth it when I can finally take it to the range.

My old man has a Portuguese contract Kar98k (M/937) that is in pretty much new or immaculate condition. Who would of thought that the prices would continue to skyrocket
  • From my grandfather who passed last year I inherited a 7mm mauser rifle with its original bayonet.
  • @pepsirichard24
Not gonna get any cheaper unfortunately... I chose the worst time to start collecting Milsurp, had to pay like $700 for a decent Mosin 💀
