Hurricane Beryl is set to cause devastating impacts on the Windward Islands this morning, with Barbados and Tobago first in line to receive the storm. Beryl is a very powerful Category 3 hurricane and is expected to strengthen again before it reaches the islands, and is likely to contain winds of 140 miles per hour when it reaches St Vincent and Grenada.

Watches are also starting to come into effect for the Dominican Republic and Haiti now as the storm draws closer to the Caribbean region.

Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Chris is making landfall in Veracruz, Mexico, and is likely to cause flooding rains in the region.
