I don't think I've noticed before because you don't talk about plug ins that much, but it would help to put them on the screen at times. Also, I'm interested in what it sounded like as these FX were added on, the evolution of the sound as it was processed. I love these videos. I could never be as methodical in my recording, but I'm getting a lot ideas of things I can use. :)

It's neat how Jessica's face is reflected in the hi tom.

So great you did that one! Incredible album production.
  • Love this series! How about some Elvis Costello and the Attractions, like Lipstick Vogue?

This is great. I’ve wanted someone to break down these drums.
  • This is so sick thanks for making this video! Just wanted to clarify is the processing just on the drum bus or over the entire mix?

How about “The Rat” by The Walkmen off their Bows & Arrows album? They say the song started with the fast drums during a jam, but it proved difficult for them to self record (more the organ and guitar parts) so they did go to a recording studio for the first time.

Next up: Green Day's American Idiot album drums please ! (Boulevard of broken dreams)
  • Not at all close on how it was recorded. You could have just asked. I’m easy to find.

Love this album. Kacey is not the traditional pop country star. I call her music Wild Wild West country. In other words, mix traditional country with techno (i.e. mellotron).

Might as well just use a drum machine. There’s zero feeling.
