“So long live our own Queen Mary.”

Plus a ton of other moments I could have included but this video was originally only meant to be four minutes long...

I love how eloquent and witty everyone is, and then Mary ends her fights with Edith with a "Ahhhhhh"

cora "i hate to lie" mary "i'll do it. i don't mind lying"

Everyone saying she treated Edith badly as if it wasn't mutual. Mary seemed more brutal just because she was better at it, but that doesn't mean that Edith didn't want to hurt her equally.
  • "i'm not sure how feminine i am." that always stuck with me. mary is a such an icon!!
  • Her close friendship with Tom at the end was one of my favorite aspects of the whole show! And she really took on Sybil's realistic feminist outlook towards the end; it suited her.

“He looks like a puppy saved from a puddle” “Edith is as mysterious as a bucket” Two of my favorite lines from Lady Mary

"I should hate to be predictable." - Mary Crawley at her wedding

“I’m not going. They’re my pigs.” Mary’s cutest line in my opinion.

if we all learn to *dress ourselves*, we could save fOrTy ThOuSaNd A yEaR

The way that she openly inferred Thomas would want to look at male dockworkers is iconic

I loved Mary all the way through the show. Her wit is simply iconic right after the Dowager herself. ❤️

Yesss, you included my 2nd favourite Downton quote: "I'm going upstairs to take off my hat." Beaten only by "What is a weekend?"

I love her! Can't get enough of her. Oh yes, she can be snarky, mean-spirited, and snobbish, but isn't that sort of part of her charm? Also, put together that nastiness with her (many) moments of kindness, her intelligence, and fierce sense of independence, and you get an all-around very compelling, complex character.

One of my favorite moments for Mary is when she mistakenly believes someone was rude to Tom (this was recently after Sybil died), and she turns sharply to him with wide, furious eyes and says, "Who was rude?!" in a tone that suggested she was going to make whoever it was pay. It was a very small moment, but the amount of outrage she showed on her normally super composed face over her favorite sister's husband being mistreated... I just love it. XD
  • I love how everyone was against Tom and when Sybil died he just became a big part of their family, they all were so sad when he left and they love him like a son and a brother

"If we all learn to dress ourselves, we could save £40,000 a year..."

The role of Lady Mary Crawley was totally made for Michelle Dockery. She's absolutely perfect for the role, I can't seemed to understand why Hollywood wouldn't offer her more roles. She's super talented and I still think she's very underrated
  • Love Mary completely! She’s one of those alpha females who are gorgeous, confident, witty, charming, honest, have a certain power over men, keep their family close, have contradictions, love truly, take charge, treat the servants well, and can land on their feet after any debacle. Mary is enigmatic!
