So RIDICULOUSLY simple and yet almost 50 years later STILL the best horror movie theme!!! The simple ones are always the best...jaws psycho. I remember probably 1980..81 rushing home after trick or treating to watch this on TV every year and it scared the shit out me!!!..81, I was 6

I didn’t really care for this movie until this year back in October. It was showing on live TV and since I was bored at the moment I decided to watch it. It was already at the scene where Laurie Strode finds all of her friends dead, and my mind was blown by Jamie Lee Curtis’s amazing acting. And that one shot of Michael Myers slowly creeping out of the shadows behind her was so creepy, and it’s probably my second favorite shot in the whole movie (other than the scene with him sitting up in the background). I finished watching the movie and it was at that moment I decided that Halloween was my favorite horror movie. Fast forward to a few months later, I’ve seen almost every Halloween film except for Resurrection and Ends, I’ve been collecting merchandise (I even have a plushie of Michael, and I love it so much), I got James Jude Courtney’s autograph at a convention (the actor who played Michael in the recent Halloween trilogy), I’ve been drawing Michael a lot lately, I’ve been watching other slasher movies (I’ve taken a huge liking to the Friday The 13th films and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films) and I’m currently listening to the Halloween soundtrack in the middle of December. I’m pretty much obsessed, but that’s what happens when you’re autistic and a forty year old slasher movie becomes one of your fixations. (And I’m not using the word “autistic” in a derogatory way btw) Halloween is definitely my favorite horror movie and slasher movie, and Michael Myers is definitely my favorite slasher. He doesn’t scare me, but I still think he’s really cool, and I really like his character design because it’s so simple yet it’s very effective. I also just really like his mannerisms too, especially that head tilt thing he does. Idk, I just think he’s a really cool character.

Saw has a disturbing and desperate theme Psycho is very agressive, and the shower scene is perfectly portrayed by the music Shining is opressive with its theme and really well encapsulates the atmosphere of the movie. The Exorcist is simple but delivers perfectly both the horror and the epic aspect of the movie. Jaws is iconic and summarize perfectly the threath slowly approaching and getting faster and faster. But... Halloween is the ultimate horror soundtrack masterpiece in my opinion. Untopped. Unchallenged.

This theme and this movie as a whole is just a pure masterpiece and it gets me emotional. Have to listen to this and watch the movie every Halloween. Been a fan since I was 7. 🎃🔪
