UK Riots: Police get some relief from counter protesters #politics

Published 2024-08-08
Thousands of counter protesters gave the UK some relief after days of far-right riots.

Police had 6,000 specialist officers ready to guard areas around immigration-related facilities on Wednesday, after online agitators posted messages urging supporters to converge on them. The unrest was initially triggered last week by the fatal stabbings of three young girls and false rumors that the attacker was Muslim asylum-seeker, before morphing into anti-immigration and racist disorder.

When certain info is omitted when reporting, is that putting know as putting a spin on a story? And is that akin to what’s known as lying?

This is all rather sadly amusing. During the riots (sorry, “peaceful protests” as always described by UK & Western politicians and media) in Hong Kong in 2019 -20 politicians were threatened, one was actually stabbed, and their families were threatened and doxed. The same happened to police officers’ families at their homes and their children were assaulted and threatened at school. Those riots were supported by the UK government and NGOs. Now something similar is happening in the UK Brits are outraged. Karma.
