Do Catholics still love the Eucharist? | Into the Truth | Ep 7

Publicado 2024-04-25
In an era where nearly half of practising Catholics question the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, it's fair to be concerned about the vitality of the Catholic Church. In the first episode of Season 2 of our Into the Truth podcast, Professor Stephen Bullivant of St Mary's University, Twickenham, explores the decline of Christianity in Britain, examining factors such as the aftermath of Vatican II and the challenges posed by the pandemic, alongside the Church's response to these pressing issues.

Despite this seemingly pessimistic outlook, Bullivant sheds light on stories of hope and growth within the Church in Britain. Notably, the episode highlights the steadfast devotion of young Catholics, whose fervent embrace of Eucharistic Adoration and reverence for the Eucharist signal a promising future for the Church

Watch now to discover the profound significance of the Eucharist in contemporary Catholicism and to glean insights on navigating secularisation in today's world.

  • Fascinating talk and resonates so much, being one of those youngish counter-cultural Catholics with young kids and learning so much more about my faith from YouTube (you're right that the Catholic church in Britain could do more, some great content coming out from America though). One point I'd make about young families in the pews is that a lot of us are catholic mums bringing up their kids in the faith alone (non believing dads) - they could also do with more recognition and support in these secular times. Great talk!
  • Mass is the most precious part of my life. I go because and for the Holy Eucharist… and it’s a holy day of obligation. I got to take Holy Communion on my birthday it was awesome!

Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. It's His body, blood, soul and divinity. It's our most precious treasure 💗
  • ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: “It is important to be ever mindful that communion with Christ is deeply tied to communion with our brothers and sisters. The Sunday Eucharistic gathering is an experience of brotherhood. The sign of peace is a particularly expressive gesture which the faithful are invited to make as a manifestation of the commitment to mutual love which is made in sharing the one bread.”

Many thanks for this. Lots to ponder on!
  • Get Bishop Robert Book this is my body it explain it better than I can.
  • Instead of asking “Do they still believe", one should ask “Is the Eucharist is the Real Present of God, The Body and Blood of Christ “. Because The Eucharist is always The Real Present of The Lord, and whether people believe or not, it is still the truth: The Real Present of The Lord.
  • If someone say: Catholic Mass is boring, because they don’t see how great to become a Saint 😁 because want to be a Saint is need to denial what the world loves and picks up their cross and follow Jesus
  • "to be properly Catholic" at 21:58 is incorrect as it is 'to do Catholic as a procreation gift doing role. Consecrated marriage identity being-role doing, celibate vowed to man in Christ or male female vowed to God, or associating together with consecrated marriage is the yeast for raising the yeast less bread in Eucharist gift role to be and do real presence in keeping in uncertainty of belief the inseparability and qualitative equality of to be and to do. Bishop Barron is not associating together with consecrated marriage in his oscillation.

The Roman Catholic Eucharist is the body of Jesus Christ Period! It is not a representation of the body of Jesus Christ it is the body of Jesus Christ! No essay has nothing to do with the Eucharist being or not being the body of Christ! The Bible is the only essay that proves that the Eucharist is the body Christ! Why? Because Jesus Christ said it!
