The Making of Sephora Canada's National Indigenous History Month Campaign

Published 2021-06-03
This year Sephora Canada launched its first-ever Indigenous History Month Campaign.

The goal – to amplify Indigenous voices. Offering our platform to share the beauty that lives in the stories, songs, traditions and truths of Indigenous Peoples.

To ensure authentic representation of Indigenous Peoples, we leaned on a circle of Indigenous partners, not just in front of the camera, but behind the scenes as well.

With this campaign we are sending a message for people from all Indigenous communities: we want you to feel safe and welcome in our stores, in our offices, in the beauty community and beyond. You belong here.

I hope everyone apart of this campaign could see the lack of perspective, understanding, and complete ignorance to what a native is and why NONE would support BRANDING. ITS NOT OK TO USE CULTURE, LOVE, AND HISTORY FOR YOU TO MAKE MONEY. Its 2021, young people don't care how SIMPS try to manipulate love.

This is just getting annoying. Shina Nova is known for wanting the indiginous autority back. Also she's promoting things like Beluga hunting. We live in 2021, the ranks of the world have already been set. you're free to be whatever you want but don't push for authority.
