With just one seat left to declare, Labour can boast a majority of 176 MPs. While the Conservatives are down to a third of their previous total. It was a record night for the Liberal Democrats, as they become the third largest party in Westminster. While the SNP suffered huge losses.

neither the tories or labour wanted to move to proportional representation from FPTP because it would strip them of some of their power so it doesn't happen, last time FPTP worked for the Tories, this time it absolutely fucked them

1% increase on their last vote count and a massive majority instead of a crushing defeat, interesting system

Starmer won 9,712,011 votes In 1997 John Major won 9,591,085 votes in the catastrophic Conservative defeat. When the population was a lot lower.

It is not a labour landslide, it is a tory major loss, labour had less votes this election than the last.
  • @TrixiLovesYou
Absolutely no sympathy for Tories who lost their seat.
  • @mrmhj9925
Over 80% of the UK didn’t vote Labour. Just keep that mind.
  • More than 80% of the country did not vote for Labour. That perfectly highlights just why this electoral system needs to change
  • @dschoene57
Getting 64% of the seats on 34% of the votes is just utterly bonkers. I like that the Tories were obliterated, but this electoral system of yours is just ridiculous. It's as far as you can get from democracy this side of Belarus.

Labour 402 seats with 35% of the vote Reform 5 seats with 15% of the vote And some people actually call this democracy.
  • 2019: 10,295,907 Labour votes = Conservative landslide 2024: 9,660,081 Labour votes = Labour landslide Something’s very wrong with our political system.
  • @fish4fun84
Reform 4 seats 4 million votes??? labour 9.5 million and 400+ ...system is a fail.
  • No money for the public but money for war and insider contracts
  • @MrScootmcg
Sectarianism introduced into mainland UK politics, regardless of who you voted for this should be a huge red flag.

Labour won 34% ofbthe vote on a 60% turn out and Starmers majority effectively halved ..... 80% of the Electorate DIDN'T vote for Labour and the vast majority of the the 400+ seats are now marginals. Starmer is in no way popular and I'd wager within 3 - 6 months many of the voters who voted Labour will have huge buyers remorse with what Labour have planned ..... and my prediction Starmer will be removed/replaced within 24 months and this will 've a 1 term Parliament
  • For those complaining about a majority with a minority population. The tories have been there long enough with just that, the libs have been calling for such a change to proportional representation for years which is based on popular vote. If tory wants the change they had the time to bring it in and support the change, if they are bitter now, they have only themselves to blame.

Different colour party same owners. They represent the views of unelected billionaire owned think tanks like the Wef, the military industrial complex and their forever wars, gen0cidal regimes in the middle east, 27,000 dead women and children in G@za and Starmer doesnt dare criticise. Even said starvation was a legimite tactic.
  • @djmightymurph
Tories thought that last time people voted for them not Boris ! Then got rid of him from within ! Karma !

When cruella says the party let you down she means the party let her down. Narcissist.
