My hands and arms are much the same from 40 years of home repairs and rehabilitating feral and rescue cats.

The wind has blown over this earth for so many eons before I ever arrived and it will long after my flesh has become ash or worm addled, but now as my blood still courses my body shows the time I cut off my finger tip with a circular saw, my distal biceps tendon surgery, the cut on my lip, the gash across my wrist from a broken wire glass window, the part of my arm that was shredded by broken ceramic tiles, the grinder blade that went through my palm, the cut through my knee from falling on something sharp in snow as a child, but the jagged lines of cerebral tissue that have been stabbed, torn, and twisted by years of trying to fight against whatever hides in that wind and the voices that still haunt my inside muscles with memories of those from outside have made me the person I am, if I do not exsanguinate I live on to see my flesh repair, and perhaps a synapse will too find a resting place patched up with something tougher, ready to hear a better song and to spread a better message than the ones that have skipped after a needle dropped into the groove of polyvinyl chloride also scarred but still holding in yesterday’s sweet tune.

i think emotional scars are less visible but last a lifetime. There are ways to treat either though 💜🦑 Side note but every time you mention your brother I can't help but to think that it was Richard 😅
