🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

I appreciated the part where he told Peluche that he didn't have to eat the lion just because he is on his show. Really shows he cares and respects people. Awesome episode.
  • @missceebrownin
1000000% my favourite food show host. You don't patronise or act 'nice' you just immerse yourself in the cultures. It's truly a gift you have. I've not seen any other travelling youtubers with this ability. You're very honest with it too and I respect that 💯💯
  • @damida4546
Sunny…wow. The little speech you gave at the end after eating the lion was absolutely everything. ❤
  • @arunpathi8000
I have seen some of his episodes, but this one made me respect his attitude and way of putting his thoughts, ideas and the beliefs in such humble and approachable way, and these made me immediately subscribe to the channel after watching many previous episodes just in curiosity without subscribing to the channel, now I am proud and happily fulfilled subscribing to this channel. Awesome 👌✌

Sonny gives a little speech at 20:36 to 21:49 that is really worth highlighting. Just because it isn't your cuisine doesn't make it less worthwhile. I watch these videos for these moments, the unknown or unexplored areas of culture and it's food. This Mexico series was GOLD. That's thanks to Sonny and the BEFRS Crew.
  • Mad respect for this episode. A lot of youtube reviewers dont have this level of respect for their hosts or culture around the world like this show.
  • This brings out a whole different side of Mexico that the media likes to portray. It’s such a diverse and beautiful country with wonderful people that I would like to visit one day. It’s a shame the few have to ruin it for the many.
  • @maggiefox10
I've watched most of your videos, Sunny....but this one is the best, in my opinion. I now live in central Mexico, having moved from central Canada, and the respect you show to the people is awe-inspiring. I have learned SO much watching this video. Thank you so much for a job well done. I am your fan forever. 🥰

Can we just appreciate that this guy never disappoints with content
  • @alexpacheco6626
I loved the hospitality of the people of Mexico. As a Mexican myself, it reminds me that our people are humble and full of love. And I’m glad that they all tried the lion meat. That was a rare opportunity experience something very rare. Great video!
  • This show is amazing. It does make you question what your version of “okay” is.Because I’m finding that most other places outside of the US have similar views on not being wasteful with their food and being very unique in how they prepare their food.I find the back stories and history and cultures to be the most interesting. The food is really just a small introduction to a much bigger picture and I love that. Some are very hard to understand but sonny always is respectful of the people’s hospitality and time. All the way down to helping prepare the food and actually trying it with an open mind.He gives his honest opinion without being rude when there is something a little more questionable. And he explains to them how different and new these experiences are to him and the rest of us.Kind of obsessed with this show now!Slightly makes me wanna go try something completely out of my comfort zone lol Just might like it🤷🏻‍♀️❤️❤️
  • @shaiktanveer
After watching all the videos of this channel I understood that there isn't anything that human's wouldn't consider as food
  • @paulspeedy5272
I like what you said, "that food is like a religion". I cannot agree more with any statement ever made! I am a Canadian and went to cullinary school in Germany. I love watching your show, and keep up the great work.
  • @PAPABEAR246
Good job on being respectful and trying the lion. The guy that cook it was doing you a special favor,. And you showed the proper respect by trying it. Good job.
  • @TheAvgJoeVlog
This is the complete version of Andrew Zimmerman I used to watch on tv. Like, I love this, and the insight I learn on the cultural nuances/respect. Please keep doing what you do, exotic or not. We just love the way you love food, dude!
  • @crystalyzd1
I'd love to join an exotic food tour with Sonny and try as many different foods as he has. I've tried many bushtuckers of Australia, plants, insects and animals and several odd foods in South East Asia and enjoyed most of them. One day hopefully I'll realise my dream...I'm 73yrs young so there's still time
  • @zgamer49
The monologue at 20:34 was spot on. It's so amazing to see what people around the world eat and learn about the different cultures and cooking techniques. Awesome video as usual!
  • @ryan49805
I just love that the humping deer weren’t cut out in the editing process 😆
  • @Alex-rl4uy
I just discovered this show and couldn't figure out why I liked the host so much and felt some strange connection until I realized we are almost the same age. You're awesome man. Keep being awesome.
