For the price of an Internet service, I have a front row seat in the greatest classroom with my two favorite professors. I'm not so worried about the decline of "education."

Brilliant to distinguish individualism from individuality. Socialism is based on individuality to participate in democracy. Capitalism uses individualism as a dogma to undercut cooperation and social values.

I lived in Europe for over twenty years and everyone knows Marx. The have powerful unions, know how to mobilize and organize, and they think critically. They make and remake parties of all stripes. They also have various forms of the 'right', various 'conservatisms'. In the US, capitalism IS politics -and even religion.
  • If I had one wish, I'd like to see Dr. West as number 46. But in reality I'm voting for the person Dr. West supports in the 2020 primary, Senator Bernie Sanders.
  • This is a great segment and I wish THIS was what our "news" reported.

6:56 This is where we live. We may postulate, pontificate and deliberate (as Cornel might say) online, with one another but Monday morning we face the fact we no longer have much if any say in our own places of employment.

This is a talk-lecture that needs to go "viral." It needs hearing everywhere now that we're approaching the November election. Too many conservatives out there are so complacent and ignorant (hence afraid of change) and led along everyday by FOX & friends. Richard Wolff was on FOX recently and they basically laughed at him, called him "comrade," made predictable references to Trotsky and Lenin, etc. It's a thick wall of ignorance we need to crack if there's going to be any reform in this country.

We in the U.S. have been left in the dark about the qualities of democratic socialism. The grade school and university curricula are set by the 1% to make sure that we do not understand what is happening to us in the workplace and why. Capitalism succeeded in the 1950s only because we were untouched by the war. The breakdown of capitalism's promise for a reasonably stable and reliable life style has disappeared for the majority of workers.

Wow! I'm a big fan of Cornel West. I'm new to Wolff. I enjoyed and am inspired by this conversation!

Good shows, your guests are some of the best to dissect the issues of inequality and other ills of capitalism. How about having representatives of the 1st Nations people of this western hemisphere on your show. I can suggest at least two John Trudell and Oren Lyons, we indigenous folk have a unique and relevant perspective on the evolution of this euro-centric disaster that has us all concerned about the fate of our world because of the culture of "me" that has attempted to replace our beautiful "we" based indigenous cultures. Thanks for a great channel
