I saved this Joseph Gerl Landshut (J.G.L.) movement from the damage sustained when the entire clock fell over. The suspension spring was broken, the crutch was bent, and the hammers were wildly splayed. In addition, one chime rod was broken off and of court he weight shells were smashed. Now that I’ve proven out the movement, I will dismantle, clean, and oil. But even now, this is an amazing timekeeper. It’s regulated to exactly 3600 beats per hour and it holds that rate without variation. The beat differential is about 15 milliseconds and is very steady. A very satisfying performer!
