FIXING POND CLARITY by capturing Runoff in CATCH BASIN DRAIN

The pond project continues and the plan now is to create a storm drain basin to catch the ground water before it runs into the pond and clouds the pond water. By installing this catch basin drain, which is connected to a line of Big O drainage pipe, the hope if that the water from those heavy rainfall events gets captured by the catch basin and removed by the in-ground pipe keeping it from entering the pond and causing turbidity. Every heavy rain it seems the water run off flows through the sandy field and muddies up the pond for many days. This is called turbidity in the pond water as the soil particles suspend in the water column for long periods of time resulting in cloudy, muddy water. It's frustrating as I can't film any underwater content at this point due to water clarity issues. If I can put an end to the rain water run off and erosion entering the pond, I think I can get my pond water clarity back to where it was - crystal clear.

Once the french drain install was complete, a huge rain storm came in the next day and overwhelmed the drainage pipe and washed into the pond making a mess of the water quality again. We then added a larger berm and installed some sod and grass to hold the berm in place during heavy water flooding.

I enjoy the way you work through the various problems that arise. I have no suggestions except to say, "Keep up the good work".

Why not install some wet land plants to slow down the erosion and runoff? Lol just send the sediment into the lake and ruin that water body.
