I've recently confessed to my close friend at school, and I got rejected. It was ok at first, we agreed to still be friends, but as time goes on, the more painful I feel knowing that we'd never cross the barrier of "being friends". As I dig deeper, I find out that their rejection was mainly because they were probably still upset by their previous relationship at the time of my confession. Now we still chat normally, I enjoy every moment with them, but when I'm alone I just feel hurt by my thoughts. Could anyone give me some advice on my case? I wish I had seen this last year. I thought my friend who I liked had a crush on me and when I told her my feelings she friendzoned me and I was totally heartbroken.
