WELCOME //
I'm Rachel, a mom of three and the oldest in a family of 8 kids. I'm a second-generation homeschooler who is passionate about education. I'm originally from Michigan, but am living overseas. My two young boys and teaching homeschool lessons to my youngest sisters keep me busy, but I make time for writing and for making Youtube videos, too! On this channel, you can expect videos featuring books and homeschool curriculum, homeschool tips for hard days, our journey raising bilingual kids, and vlogs about the intentional adventure that our homeschool lifestyle allows! Expect two videos a week, uploaded at 3:45 p.m. EST on Sundays and Wednesdays.

  • I love that almost all your videos have bird sounds as a background haha. Thanks for the flip through! I'm torn between Spelling Connections and 180 days of spelling, I feel like they are very similar!
  • We’ve been using this series for a couple of months now. It is a really excellent resource for homeschool families, I’m so glad you’re able to do a flip-through!
  • I really appreciate how you describe and explain things, Rachel! And I feel like we appreciate the same nuances in curriculum so I really value your suggestions. I think we’ll add this to our rotation! It seems so well rounded yet with options to expand upon. Thank you so much!!

I've been wanting to see this Rachel!! ❤ thanks for shading!!!
  • Oh my gosh Ive been eyeing this!!! The timing is perfect! Thank you for showing us!🤗
  • I've been seeing this spelling curriculum pop up in videos a lot. We are using and loving All About Spelling. My kids need the explicit spelling instruction. I love the bird sounds that are often in your videos!
  • @coachjra
My kids are about to finish grade 1 ZB spelling! It is a shining star! Top notch. If you want an easy to use, colorful spelling curriculum for your 1st grader- don't hesitate to purchase this.
  • I love that it’s got activities and challenge words!!! I love that it has review!!!
  • Thanks for sharing!!! I have been considering them for cursive. I love how colorful their workbooks are.
  • Is this a fairly new curriculum? Before last week I had never heard of it. My daughter would have loved this! It seems like a similar skill as Explode the Code (which she loved and HAD to do all the levels of), but it’s SO pretty and in color! ❤😂

Not sure if you mentioned this in your video... i might have missed it... but i noticed that there is teachers manual that you can buy... do you think its beneficial?

Can you share why you chose this over All About Spelling? I’m currently trying to decide for my upcoming 1st grader.
  • I’d be worried about how much writing my child would have to do before moving on to the next set of words. I realize I wouldn’t have to make her do all activities, but if I’m skipping half the book I don’t feel like it was money well spent. 🤔
  • Could this also work as a writing portion of our school day? I just feel im stuck between this spelling curriculum or a writing curriculum such as handwriting without tears.. it would definitely be too much writing for my boys.. thoughts?

My 5 & 7 y/o have recently expressed interest in learning Spanish. Mom & Dad only speak English... Where would you recommend we begin?? Thank you!
