As a cadet in the CHP Academy, Officer Zak Bryant was hit head-on by a drunk driver which forced him to pause his journey to becoming an officer. Officer Bryant tells his story of the effects of someone else's terrible decision to drive intoxicated and how he has overcome this near-death incident.

I am a retired CHP Officer and I was on duty and worked the traffic accident this future officer was involved in. I'm grateful he survived and is currently working as a fine example of the CHP.

I find it crazy how often drunk drivers walk away from accidents. Thank you CHP for doing all you can to hold these careless people accountable. Stuff like this is why I want to join the ranks of CHP.
