  • "Best Days" takes me back to 16. One of my favorite Blur songs.
  • Thanks for reviewing this Ross - this cheered me up slightly after a crappy day This is currently my 2nd fave Blur album behind Parklife - my fave songs are the 4 singles (Stereotypes, Country House, Charmless Man and The Universal) plus Mr Robinson's Quango and He Thought of Cars I think towards the end the quality does dip a little and maybe as you said there are a few too many tracks, but interestingly Parklife had 16 tracks and doesn't seem to drag imo. Maybe it's because some of the songs like The Debt Collector and Far Out are quite short (which is actually a blessing as they're probably 2 of the weaker tracks on that album) I also didn't realise until a couple of weeks ago how dark some of the lyrics are and how Damon's mind was at the time having watched a couple of YT videos on the subject (I can't remember who the uploaders were sadly)

Took me many years to finally look up what a Quango actually is. I was very surprised.

I’ve always thought blur were a bit soft besides song 2 and usually overly british

I was slightly disappointed in this album when I first bought it in 1995. Parklife & Modern Life were so much better. Stereotypes should have been the lead single in my opinion. Cheers for the review Ross I’ll probably listen to this album again over the next few days.
