Thank you for this video and many others. It has helped me stay active despite shinsplints, runner's knee, and back pain. Been an amazing resource

I’m about 4 weeks out from my first Marathon and just finished a long run with this taping technique! Huge improvement using this technique. I’m also working on stretching and strengthening, but for now this is extremely helpful.

Thanks @john Gibbons -- looking forward to trying this out this technique on my injured knee. Great video.

Thanks very much. Using the tape in this way has really helped me start to get back to running pain free. I'm not quite there but this is definately helping. As you say. Taping doesnt solve a sore knee...that needs the physio and foam rolling and stretching. But this technique on taping means you can run as part of your rehab. Thanks again for uploading

I will try this. My knee had an alignment problem before, but it worked without pain. I would sometimes have to push what felt like cartridge back under knee if my quads were too loose. A month ago. I had to quickly jump off a hoverboard and felt a jolt in my knee. I recently began exercising, light extensions, lighter leg press, and leg curls using Life fitness commercial equipment. My patellar grinds more, sways as I extend. If I had some way of holding it in place as I strengthen it, I believe it would pull right again. Thankfully, I don't have a great deal of pain, just more grinding as I extend. This may be a solution. Thanks

How does this differ in the kinetics from the one that used two I-strips down the sides, covering the MCL and LCL areas as well (patella strip first)?

Can’t believe I never heard of the rubbing with the back of the tape trick til now, I’d always try to do friction with my hands but this was so much more effective! Thank you!
  • Thanks for the video John , this helped me recover after a long run and helped ease the pain a lot plus with icing . Greetings from Malaysia
  • Little late to this. I’ve had bad runners knee for a good 2 weeks now ever since I started running again. Haven’t ran in 2 years and I guess my body, especially knees, started to hurt whenever I would run. It was like something was stabbing my lower knee and it would go away after my body was warmed up. I’m going to be buying tape later on today in hopes it’ll help me since my knee braces aren’t helping at all in my opinion. Gonna get a rad sun tan
  • This one is yet the best because it gave a medium support and didn't really push the patella all the way up.. It gives me comfort.. Thank u all the way from Malaysia 💖
  • I've been dealing with Patellofemoral Pain for 6 months with very little relief from braces, nsaids etc. This taping technique brought immediate relief. Thanks so much for taking the time to make it.

I have had an impact trauma to to top of my patella and also have previous rubbing and bruising around where my patella and femur meet, will this type of taping help stop some of that rubbing by keeping my patella away from the injured area and my femur? I am thinking if my patella stays a bit further down it will help with pain. what do you think?
  • @Jeffreynelius
Definitely trying this method next time Thanks man 🙏
  • @GrinderMagee
I had been using a similar technique, but application was inverted, starting on the quad and its a faff to get the stretch and placement correct. I am going to try your technique next go for cycling support. 🙏 THANK you.
  • My daughter had mpfl surgery over a year ago and her knee has starting feeling unstable and causing her pain again. I’m thinking about trying this for her. I actually wish we would’ve tried this before surgery. Do you think it’s a good idea to try taping it now or do you think she should even be experiencing pain and instability again?
