An animal handler who survived a gator attack last month is speaking out to Inside Edition about the harrowing ordeal. A gator bit down on 31-year-old Lindsay Bull’s hand during feeding time at a reptile and animal zoo, as children at a birthday party looked on. Bull jumped into the glass enclosure to get better leverage. Then the gator whipped the trainer underwater in what’s known as a “death roll.” She now reveals why she jumped in purposely, and how her gymnastics experience may have saved her.

  • She rolled with an actual gator during a gator roll. She def would be a good wrestler

“As terrified children watch” Children: Stares like it’s any other day
  • Calm under pressure is an understatement. Her gymnastics training and knowledge of animals saved her life. What an incredible woman. I want her on my apocalypse team.
  • She handled it like a champ. Her mind was so focus on that moment and has a clear vision on what to do next. Props to the Dad who jumped to save her. I wish them both the best.
  • the fact that she knew the gator would roll to try to rip her arm off and knew exactly what to do just shows how much training she had.
  • Reporter: “as terrified children watch!” Little boy: 😮😃
  • this girl is smart. seems like a genuine gator educator. she thought smart quick and saved her own arm and what a hero that dad is. amazing man.
  • I don't think these wild creatures should be enclosed and have trainers in the first place but I love that her gymnastics training saved her own hand or arm. That's amazing in itself.
  • The fact that she got bit by an Alligator, got the death roll and still kept her arm let alone her hand is very impressive even with her training.

I gotta respect anyone who’s capable of keeping calm and thinking rationally under such extreme circumstances
  • (Takes off bandage) Doesn’t look too bad “The bite ruptured 80% of her tendons” IT WHAT
  • Im glad they're not blaming the animal and realize that he was just doing what alligators have done for millions of years.
  • This girl is a badass and knew what she was doing, any other person in her situation would have lost his arm
  • What a ridiculously cool character this lady has.. She was smart and agile enough to save her arm, and she isn't really bothered by the hand.
  • This is the reason animals like this should not be caged for our viewing pleasure. I’m glad she’s ok but we need to stop with the putting wild animals in small cages.

“Darth Gator” attacked his handler, because he found her lack of faith in him staying inside his enclosure disturbing.

Tearing up while watching. Seeing such a beautiful kind man who didn’t hesitate.

From time to time I go back to this video to get teary and remind me how amazing humans truly can be. Not only did everyone the right thing, her being so unbelievable smart and brave, the father risking his life in a situation he wasn't trained for to help a stranger, and even smaller things like the person pulling the children away in case it gets grim. And also: Nobody demonizing the animal or, even worse, punishing it. How she steps up for him and shows that it's not like he's anything like "evil", but this is just a risk when dealing with a wild animal and predator. Everyone there such a great human.
