  • Wait so… what are they doing about the poor people already there???
  • Maybe if West Virginia invested in those that are still here and stop running the state like it was 60 years ago maybe people would stay here.

They have to improve the infrastructure for this to work … internet service is terrible and inconsistent. Dirt roads everywhere still. I own a house in WV, but don’t live there due to the lack of opportunities for my family.

A shame that they are paying people to move to WV as opposed to putting that money back into a heightened quality of life for the state’s existing residents.

All of a sudden, West Virginia is embracing culture? Poverty will make you say anything.

I am a Remote Worker ... and I am moving to West Virginia. Place is gorgeous and the people are just awesome.

I lived in Morgantown for a year… it’s such a beautiful state! I also drove past many confederate flags everyday and when I went up into Albright there was a FULL KKK hood & robe in the window of an abandoned store 🥴 not for people of color.
  • Yikes that place looks like it's decaying and the wifi and cell phone reception would be extremely shoty! Not exactly what digital nomads are looking for.

Don’t do it. I’ve lived here my entire life and this place’s beauty simply does NOT outweigh the amount of unincorporated, uneducated trash that plagues this poor state. There’s no market in a state with notorious poverty and ghost towns.

I accidentally drove into West Virginia once...my cousin freaked all the way out 🤣🤣 she said "AW HELL NAW WE GOTTA GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS STATE"....As I got older I understand why now

No amount of money could convince me to have joe machin as my senator.
  • @kusheran
WV? No, there is no amount of money.... I have to to stay in the modern era!

I don’t know about all that. Last time I went to West Virginia on vacation people stopped and stared when I walked down the street. I take it they don’t see many minorities there.
  • 😳 they gone lost their damn mind... who in the hell moving to West Virginia...🤣🤣
  • @jjn6914
WV should focus on helping their existing communities first, which are suffering from water safety issues, addiction crises, and backwards politics.

As someone with Melanin ill take my chances with the cities. Hear too many shady stories about the countryside.

Still a very tough sell. They don’t even fix the bridges but close them resulting in some people not being able to go anywhere. Oops, my husband said that was Kentucky, not WV. It’s McConnell’s fault.

12k incentive to MOVE there, insulting to WV residents who earn 20k a year…..
