Climate is the signal and weather is the noise. The signal to noise ratio is low so much data is needed for a valid statistical analysis. Maybe I'm just dense, but isn't weather what makes a climate a climate (of course there's elevation and location on the globe that are elements too). but when someone asks me about the climate in my area, I typically describe the weather.
