The Hound assists Ray (a warrior turned septon) and his followers in building a sept, but one day, after a brief journey into nearby woods to chop wood, Clegane returns to the community to find everyone slaughtered by rogue members of the Brotherhood Without Banners. Clegane takes up an ax to hunt down those responsible and kills four of them. In this video clip the Hound discovers the remaining three about to be hanged by Lord Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr, who inform him that the group were acting independently of the Brotherhood. Lord Beric allows Clegane to help hang two of the outlaws, followed by an offer to join the Brotherhood.

"We all bloody die. Except this one here." 😂 One of the funniest statements in this show.

Guy is not even dead yet and the Hound is checking out his boots. Savage.

"You have friends Clegane?" "Not anymore." The saddest and most underrated line in the entire series.

I'd love to watch an hour and a half episode of Hound just wandering through the woods, slaughtering thugs and insulting them.

Beric's voice is soo unique it sounds so good. He should try being a narrator

Gotta appreciate the fact that Beric and the Hound can hang out like this considering the Hound LITERALLY killed the dude last time they saw each other

"Tougher girls than you tried to kill me. " that's just brilliant

It’s impossible to overstate how incredible Rory McCann was throughout the entirety of this show. He was absolutely perfect from his first appearance to his last, even in scenes where the writing was awful. No amount of praise for him nailing arguably the most complex character in the entire story will ever be enough.

"Chop off one hand" I love that he's trying his best to accommodate their rules

The moment Beric said "You can still help..." he had him. The man goes from running down a butcher's boy on horseback to one of the truest heroes in the story.

The casual request to chop off a hand. too funny.
  • I love how Clegane says "not any more" in response to having friends. Just a touch of melancholy in his voice, juuuuuuuust letting his tough exterior crack momentarily, then he's right back into gritted teeth and "they're mine!"

The comedy of the “He’s not” is too perfect.

I appreciate how they call him Clegane. He is man who deserves respect. The Brotherhood Without Banners was one of the most interesting subplots in later seasons. Thoros and Dondarian are fantastic well written charecters

"Drop that arrow you bloody girl." The Hound has to have more priceless lines throughout this series than any other character. How such a character of darkness can be so endearing is pure gold.

Imagine you're choking to death and someone starts to take your boots.

This is one of my all time favorite sequences with The Hound and The Brotherhood. I love the dialogue and how Clegane is seeking some kind of meaning and redemption. He realizes he wants to believe in something greater than himself, but has a hard time coming to terms with it, due to his burnt face and rough life, it's hard for him to accept it fully.

They could do a spin off of these fellas just going on adventures and I’d watch it over and over again
