I’m loving how the shows a generation grew up on modern marvels mythbusters and more are being posted to YouTube for free

Welding is the most useful skill I have ever learned. It has saved me thousands of dollars in repairing or replacing things that have broken. It's allowed me to create custom tools, parts, and art. I've welded things for my job and for my friends to save them money as well.

I am sure many others and myself included remember as a kid coming home from school just to watch this show, and How It's Made. Now just turning 32 in March, this is the exact type of work I've been doing for 15 years now. Love metal work, there is something about the smell of fresh grinded steel in the morning, that keeps me coming back for more

Modern Marvels still stands as my favorite all-time show.

Been welding and fabricating professionally since early 1986 and still currently doing it 5 days a week. Stick, Mig, Tig, Gas, Air Arch, Stainless, Cast Iron, light gauge, Heavy gauge. Everything but Aluminum. Have repaired and fabricated a tremendous amount items large and small since then. It's one blue collar skill that everybody everywhere still needs. Welding has virtually built our society.😊

Spent 40 years as a pipe welder. Welding is such a vast field, I don't think you learn it in 1 lifetime.
-
Ahh yes.. back when the history channel was epic to a wide eyed kid.. this brings me back to my childhood.
-
Modern Marvels is still on? That was the best show. I could watch it all day when I'd stay home from school or work.
-
I've never even heard of explosion welding before. Modern Marvels always delivers the goods.
-
You learn something new all the time even if you’re an older guy. I knew welding processes, but I never knew about explosive welding.
-
Modern Marvels is/was such a great series. Too bad the History Channel didn’t continue with it.
-
Ahh back when History Channel was actually good!!!!
-
Modern marvels is legit the best non-fiction show ever made.
-
As a welder myself who builds these large beams I approve of this show. Welding is an art and has so many applications.
-
History Channel should go back to making shows like this

Started welding at Kickapoo High School in Springfield over 44 years ago. Decided I was gonna weld. It was and still is a great career for me.

Ever see Looney Tunes Sylvester the cat dressed in underwater diver suit with the suit/helmet/air hose? His little son was tasked with the turning the wheel to crank the air. No electric motor. He got distracted by a butterfly and stopped cranking the pump. Sylvester was turning blue. When he realized what he'd done, he cranked it so fast that he blew up like a balloon. Hilarious.

This is one of the best Modern Marvels I've seen... Modern Marvels is one of the best television shows I've seen... What ever happened to programming like this??

I first learned gas welding. Then stick welding and lately TIG welding. I am no professional. But having the ability to weld and fabricate has been very useful. It’s a great skill to have. But you could spend a lifetime learning everything.
