We have a small mom and pop costume shop in my town, we have a lot of theater events in our area to keep them open. As much as they adore and support the costume, cosplay, fur suit, etc. communities they do have a "Do NOT harass the other customers" policy. It is STRICT but enforced very fairly. These girls would have been booted out HARD!

I actually had something similar happen to me back when I was working at PetCo. So I just finished stocking and rotating the bags of dog and cat food, ready to check in with my manager and see what else I needed to do when I hear someone say “no, bad dog!” I turn, thinking it’s a customer getting after their dog for peeing but instead find a woman with leash in hand scolding I guess her boyfriend/pet with spiked collar around his neck, wolf ears and tail. Although strange, I ask if they need help to which she tells me, she’s looking for food for her pet, pointing to her boyfriend. I’m like okay, though mentally screaming this is weird. So I try to make small talk, “that’s an interesting costume, are you all going to a nearby convention?” “No, he’s my pet and since he’s been good, I’m taking him out.” The guy didn’t say anything but smiled, meanwhile the alarms in my head are going wild. “Well if you need any help, just ask.” Being polite but ready to get the hell away before I become guilty by association.

The biggest word out of everything when it comes to kink is CONSENT. They both violated that here and did not ask for consent, just went straight to involving someone that was minding their own business. This exists, there are people who do it, but never involve others that don't request to be involved. That's assault and harassment.

I went to a convention in Huntsville AL, and there were a LOT of people with fursuits or cat ears. There was even a fursuit repair station.

It’s amazing how different anime is to real life; in an anime, that scenario would play out VERY differently, or at least would build up to a different outcome later on. Btw; don’t do the thing that those ladies did unless the recipient consents; your allowed to have kinks, but you’re not allowed to use them as an excuse to bother strangers ESPECIALLY when it’s in public.
