Honestly, I think most of the positivity came from the fact that this game was a step up from Breath of the Wild in basically everyway in terms of its mechanics. So most of the praise is coming from people who liked the first one and saw this as a genuine upgrade. The shift to building made sense given how you could move larger obkects around (albeit metal) in the first game. It was fairly natural and wasn't...super(?) Invasive aside from shrines which made sense for the most part. I think since it was a direct sequel they didn't want to rock too much of the boat from Breath of the Wild which is why weapon durability is still a thing. Not a bad thing but I can understand why this would be a turn off to some. This game is definitely for people who liked and played the first game. Glow up Purah is there to make sure everyone else plays it too.

I think ganondorf hadn't been reborn in this set of games because he was still sealed under the castle, "alive". So his soul wasn't free to get a new body.
