What is your favorite stage in ALL of Smash history?
  • @corenasue
It's surprising to see Ridley in SMASH64 on the Metroid level in the background and you can see he's in his Super Metroid look.
  • @Superemie401
Nintendo: How many Easter Eggs discussions do you want for Star Fox? Sakurai: Yes.
  • @toonpik7
One thing I love about Mushroom Kingdom 64 is the Buzzy Beetle jumping in the spring in the background. It looks like it’s having so much fun, it even does a flip :D

2:32:17 An extra thing to note about Mario Maker on Smash 3DS is that if you play on the Omega form, it will cycle through all four styles since it doesn't have to worry about randomization and whatnot.

Some corrections: (PictoChat 2): The Wario nose drawing is actually based on the WarioWare Touched title screen, as those same jumping noses scatter around the screen in that game. (Pac-Land): Ms. Pac-Man's design in the international version is based on the Pac-Man cartoon at the time, as with all the other character designs in that version.

On my hands and knees begging for Meta Crystal to become a full-on stage one day. It would just have to be made bigger.
  • @VOAN
Kraid appearing in Brinstar Depths in Melee is a nod to his appearance in Super Metroid where he was also fought at Brinstar Depths since Kraid's Lair was destroy in the first game.

My favorite stages from each game are: Smash 64: Hyrule Castle Melee: Rainbow Cruise Brawl: Green Hill Zone (even though I'm kind of sick of the stage thanks to Sega reusing it over and over) Smash 4: Wily Castle Ultimate: King of Fighters Stadium
  • Now do "EVERY Newcomer (A.K.A. the fighters themselves) origin in Super Smash Bros. history" from Mario to Sora, please.

Funny story: a week before the star wars force awakens movies would premier, and I already had my ticket, the miiverse stage spoiled me on the ending of the movie. I was like "what the actual f". I was so pissed at the stage I refused to play on it every again.

You gotta love how Masahiro Sakurai put care into every stage. The man will forever be a legend among video games history.
  • I'd say my favorite stages for each game are: Melee: Pokemon Stadium, Mute City, Temple, and Brinstar. Brawl: Pokemon Stadium 2, Spear Pillar, Port Town Aero Dive, Norfair and Lylat Cruise Smash 3DS: Rainbow Road, Unova Pokemon League, Prism Tower, and Mute City SNES Smash Wii U: Kalos Pokemon League Smash 4 DLC: Midgar and Umbra Clock Tower Ultimate: New Donk City Hall and Dracula's Castle FP1: Mementos, King of Fighters Stadium, and Garreg Mach Monastery FP2: Northern Cave, Cloud Sea of Alrest, Mishima Dojo, and Hollow Bastion
  • Fun fact: the trees in the backgrounds of the Minecraft stages don’t actually all sit on real blocks. At one point I planned to build all of the Minecraft smash stages in a world, but as that world was unfortunately deleted, I only ever completed the omega version of the stage, which always uses the village appearance. If I’m remembering correctly, neither of the background trees sat on an existing block, but instead were placed in between where two blocks normally would be. The best I can assume about why they did this is that I guess it might look slightly better placement wise, although I only noticed the difference when actually placing the blocks in game, so I don’t think it actually changes much in the visual aspect

Some extra things: 1. In the background of Onett, there is a large excavator. There are no excavators in Onett, BUT there is one in Dusty Dunes Desert. This is probably just a little reference, as an excavator still fits well into a city setting. 2. During the Distant Planet segment, you talk about The Forest of Hope, but accidentally show footage of The Impact Site instead. Whoops! 3. It is true that Buzzbombs don't appear in Spiral Mountain, but they do appear in the game's opening. This is why I assume Buzzbombs appear in Spiral Mountain besides the usual vegetable enemies.
  • @boks02_
Can't believe he called it "pit of doom" and not "Hyrule Fight Club"
  • Thank you for the time and dedication you took to make us this amazing video 🙏
  • You forgot about the Neckies (the vultures) that fly over Kongo Jungle 64; and the Goonies (Seagulls), Happy Flowers, and Chain Chomps of Brawl's Yoshi's Island.
