Just my opinion but a 63 Catalina is in the top 5 of all time best looking cars ever produced, a 61 is pretty damn good looking aswell

GOOD STUFF... ...Sure do miss Old Times and ATCO DRAGS ,
  • My first car was a 1963 Catalina. So fun to see this one kick ass!! Love those cars!

Actually this is a bracket race, which provided the Firebird a significant handicap based on its relative performance, so it was competitive by definition. Notice that the slower car was 1/3 of the way down the track before my green light. As for letting up at the end, the race was already won, so no need to push it.

i agree with you, Dog. 1963 was a styling triumph, smoother, cleaner than '62, more eye appealing than the '64 (which looks as if the stylists put a picture of a '63 on a paper cutter and chopped off the ends). I loved the '61 "bubbletop" coupe - I just sold a Ventura version of that vintage. My favorite car is my '65 Catalina 2+2, but if Pontiac had produced a 2+2 in '63, I would have bought that year instead.

Damn, that old Cat caught him.

Can't wait to do that with my 64 Catalina

Not sure how competitive the ‘68 FB was. Sounds like the ol ‘63 421 Poncho left off the gas near the end.
