Comment 1500 personnes ont PERDU LA VIE sur le TITANIC ?

Published 2024-04-23
We think we know everything about the sinking of the Titanic. And yet, between myths and legends, the most famous of all liners harbors many mysteries...
How, despite the collision with the iceberg, could the liner have continued to stay afloat?
Why have security mechanisms failed one after the other?
Why did the Titanic set sail from Southampton while a fire was burning in one of its holds? Was Commander Smith really the man for the job?
To answer these questions, we went to Southampton, Belfast, London or Toulon... to meet the greatest maritime specialists, historians, engineers, collectors... but also the man who, with his team, found the wreck of the Titanic...
Thanks to never-before-seen 3D images, archives and evocations... this documentary event will make you relive the story of the Titanic... a disaster out of control...

Unfortunately, the wireless operators ignored that last iceberg warning, setting it aside, as he was busy catching up on the passenger messages. The wireless machine had broke down causing a back log of messages. Had they put the iceberg warnings together, they would have known Titanic was sailing into a icefield

Reportage extraordinaire !

Captain Smith was overconfident and not used to large ships. He had said "I cannot imagine any condition which would cause a ship to founder. Modern shipbuilding has gone beyond that"

I wouldn’t be here today if my Swedish ancestor’s train had not been late in Ireland… they thankfully missed the titanic by 20 minutes….. they are still listed as deceased on the manifest today because their bodies were not found since they actually weren’t aboard the ship…

  • From other accounts about the Titanic, it was reported there were *Time Constraints* that needed to be met. In the rush to Arrive at the final destination AHEAD of schedule, mistakes were made costing the UNNECESSARY loss of life.
  • That was an amazing documentary !!! Completely new vision and information on titanic!
