So you're a moisture farmer now, I'd keep and eye out for stormtroopers.
  • @RawDR
It's really convenient that the cat bed in that RV is big enough for you to also make use of it.

I've never seen such a well behaved Critter Acquisition and Extermination Unit before, he looked so relaxed even during the drive! 😺

imagine being lost in a desert for a month, you stumble upon Cody in his suit. He invites you in, screams at you for opening the airlock.
  • I have a couple ideas for your water collection. I think it would make sense to combine your mineral heating method with the tarp method. To do this, instead of using a dehumidifier that needs constant power use a hygroscopic desiccant like calcium chloride or epsom salts. You can absorb all your water in that way without constant power expenditure, then kiln out the water all at once a few gallons at a time. I bet the short burst of kiln power will be less than the constant dehumidifier power. Maybe just have a little solar powered computer fan for mild circulation. Second idea is to mount a big umbrella shaped tarp on a wheelie cart or an automated roomba thing that changes location when it detects humidity has dropped below a useful threshold.
  • It's like Cody kept his child spirit and do all the cool stuff I wanted to do before becoming a boring adult.
  • The effort you put in to make robocody work is astounding keep on the great work

I absolutely adore how curious and companionable your cat is. It's super adorbs.
  • Yes, more chicken hole base. I have been here since the very beginning I am beyond excited to see you working on this still Cody.

Congratulation on inventing a stretchable and non-reflecting visor for your suit! When you adjusted your glasses after going out of the airlock and once you went back in it, it looked as if your hand phased right through your visor!
  • So glad you’ve acquired a new Critters Acquisition Termination (CAT) as these systems have proven to improve the mental and physical health of those in isolation and the wider public! Miss Buddy hope he’s well on his own journey.
  • I had almost forgotten about chicken hole base, and then out of nowhere, new episode to brighten my day. EDIT: I'd like to propose an alternate rig setup for your distillation. Bury one of your smaller tanks completely, and put shade over it. Have a hose coming from under the tarp to a relatively high point. Warmer air from under the tarp should create a natural draft to this high point. At the high point, put some coils to cool the air and some shade over that. From the coils, drop another hose down to the buried tank, all the way to the bottom of it. From the top of the buried tank, run another hose back to the tarp. This makes it a completely passive system that gets the benefit of the higher temperature differential, but without needing any moving parts or electricity.

I like how Cody's directing skills have improved over the years. The video has a nice variety of topics and pace. There is enough going on with the cat and robo Cody to make it feel lively despite the very lonely locale. It's nice to see the base coming along, I'm always excited by the greenhouse. I love the way that chicken steps so carefully!

The taste of the dehumidifier condensate is probably from the evaporator coils. Metal food cans have a plastic coating to limit contamination. I would treat the water collected as grey water.
  • I love how your cat can just chill on the bumpiest ride I've ever seen, once my car hits 30 mph you're gonna see some serious spewage

Given the low amount of gas that fridge needs in order to run, you could revive your biodigester project to fuel it (helpful that you have a camping crapper too, perfect place to start!), they are pretty much a small candle flame type thing, so the amount of gas your digester made would be suitable, and of course there's always a gasometer system to store it too if there's any excess... :)
  • im sad cause starship scrub but now im happy because cody posted a new video
  • So grateful to have watched Cody the last 7-8 years. Got me through tough times in high school
  • @flyjum
Question about the clay. Will it reabsorb water out of the atmosphere gaining 20% or so weight in the process?
  • @kioanakos
3:13 puts the suit on 👨‍🚀, depressurizes, opens the outer airlock, steps outside, fixes glasses through helmet
