PLEASE READ!

*This video is made for entertaining purposes by a kpop fan, not a music expert so i may have done some mistakes but i think there aren't much of them.

*Remember that the k-pop is a music industry and not a musical genre, that's why the name "k-pop" is never in the list.

*The musical genres are mostly adapted to kpop style so most of them aren't 100% accurate. Although there're still too many songs that are played correctly in the genre they want to emulate.

* Some musical genres are repeated because of it's genre variations on the songs as k-pop tends to combine musical genres, that's why they are still counted as a "new (sub) genre"
For example:
San E's "Me you" is RnB and BES's "My everything" is a soul song but those are different to CLC's "where are you" as it combines both genres (+ 80's ballad) and it's worth to point it as a "New genre" (Well, that's how sub-genres are made ya know dgfgfsdfcg).

* Other genres are repeated because of the way they're played, for example: "Hard Trap" doesn't even exist but i didn't know how to differenciate it with what i would call "Normal Trap" as both are actually denominated the same even if both are pretty different from eachother. That's why i divided it to "Sub-genres".

(So, for "Hard Trap" i mean the trap songs with drops and agressive beats and for "Normal Trap" i'm reffering to the beats done for rap with swag and... well... like... yeah... You know what i mean)

*I know Hitchhiker's song is something like trap. i was just kidding.

If you want to correct me something i'd be glad, i want the information i'm giving to be useful.

(Why did i make the video? I'm actually impressed that almost nobody has made one yet as this "genre" is soo diverse, not only with the concepts but also with the musical influences).

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND READING!
(REALLY, IF YOU HAVE WATCHED THE FULL VID AND READ THIS... I LOVE YOU).

  • @yanivshemtov9430
You won't necessarily love every song in kpop, but you will definitely have one song that will fit your preferences exactly!
  • @TheLily97232
In Idol of BTS only, you have : 1. Brazilian carnival influences 2. Korean traditional music 3. Arabic/oriental winds 4. Afro influence in the basses 5. Pop and rap IN THE SAME SONG ! 134340 have bossa nova, jazz and hiphop vibes ... That's music
  • @efari
so basicly, Kpop is not a genre. it's just to say: it's a "pop"song from Korea
  • @bubblehun
WHOOAAA This was super helpful considering Idk what a lot of genres are called; thanks for this and happy new year! ^^
  • @darkstar2874
This is what got me into kpop, I wish western pop used more genres for inspiration. Kpop plays with music more and it’s awesome! There’s so much room for unique sounds when you put together something completely different, forget hip hop inspired ABAB song # 3 million, I want my music to get weird with it. Take Zimzalabim, America would NEVER. There were 3/4 distinct sounds pulling inspiration from multiple genres and it did a great job of feeling like a literal roller coaster which was SO COOL.

Wow I seriously love this ! People should pay attention to how diverse is the kpop scene ^^ But I had to tell that some bands you mentioned in this aren't really considered "Kpop". For example, Ft island is more seen as a Krock band, and, I remember there was an interview where Jambinai was talking about kpop saying that it's a genre that is sadly throwing shade to bands like them as it hides indie artists behind that whole idol thing so I don't think they'll be happy to be labeled "Kpop" ^^ PS: for more "Classical music" kpop : Tvxq - triangle and Shinhwa - T.O.P (I love these things seriously) PS2: I was kind of suspicious when I saw "heavy metal" for dreamcatcher I think they're more rock or maybe pop metal but heavy metal is Metallica so idk doesn't seem right
  • @blossomfg
"ggs always have the same concepts" uh no
  • @NoMusicNoLife10x
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I'm honestly so sick with all of my classmates and friends not getting or giving Kpop a chance just because it is called K-"pop"!!! I wilk so show them this video, thanks!!!

Hey guys! Happy new year! If you're waiting for part 8 of K-pop without music, i'm already making it so i hope i finish it this month. I was planning to upload it last month but i had to stop it... I guess you know why. It was a bit hard for me to make the videos feeling sad so i decided to wait until things get normal again.
