Minecraft 1.20 trails and tales looks amazing so far, and I'm even happier that Mojang is giving some attention the desert temple through archeology features. And that got me thinking... what would a desert pyramid overhaul look like?

So I challenged myself to code a #Minecraft desert temple update #datapack in 7 days.

I love how it takes 2 people one week to make an update while it takes a year for mojang to even decide on one mob
  • @Profeshinal
The only part of this that gives it a non vanilla feel is the sword. Mojangs weapons usually don't have special attacks aside from enchantments but the way you executed the sand attack felt semi-vanilla and you somehow made it look like a built in feature

This is super cool, however I would be careful with adding too many chests. I saw that most of the rooms have multiple chests. Adding too many chests reduced the excitement you get from opening a chest and just makes it feel more tedious to look through all the chests. Also I would refrain from giving too many overpowered items. For example maybe a maximum of one piece of diamond armor, one ankh, and one god apple. If too much op stuff is given then it ruins the balance of the game

I think for balance, each sand summoned should take away some XP, as of you were using it as mana. And each sand can only hit an entity once before it expires. And maybe add a cap on the sand you can summon, like maybe 50.

Wow thanks for the compliment Whimzee :D You're too kind! It was a pleasure working with you on this, can't wait to try the datapack :)

The idea of a map to an ancient city is so creative and needed since the ancient cities are almost impossible to find. What a move

This Man has been working harder then the whole Mojang team

I'm a balance freak so here's a little idea for the Ankh totem: To make it so it's not a direct upgrade to the totem of undying make it so when it breaks and revives you it gives you negative effects, so having it would be a great help but also a notable risk.
  • I feel like this could be an actually good minecraft update, all it needs to do is extend to be an entire desert update.

I love the storytelling in the rooms that you built, like the Loom room is so simple but adds so much depth to the structure. Crazy attention to detail throughout this entire project!
  • @Jeracraft
Very High-quality content dude! You got a successful future on the horizon!
  • @BradTorresHTX
Dude imagine some kind of anti-shulker that sucked you into the ground. Like, the shulkers in the end threaten fall damage, these desert-dwelling alternatives could threaten suffocation damage. It’d be like getting stuck in quicksand. Awesome job. Inspiring builds. 🤘🏼
  • @VoluSignExtra
insanely cool. free idea: full overhaul data pack series made of episodes like these, final data pack in the end. (I actually just want a final data pack like that made by you)
  • @FlooGT
this man makes better updates by himself in a week than a multi million dollar company in a year...
  • @Expertato555
It would be cool if there was another effect that came from a different breed of shulker that slams you to the ground, and falling from higher places increases the velocity and will deal more damage.
  • I would balance the sword a little bit, but remain with a unique effect. It would be awesome if you make compatible with better combat too.
  • @Beesechurger_73
Your videos are seriously amazing, if I could give you all my subscribers I would.
  • @Dxm612
What if you re-added the shulkers but as a new variant that gives you a sort of reverse levitation that drags you downward, so trying to escape is difficult because if you're climbing your way back up, it'll force you back down and you'll have to avoid the bullets and kill them to be able to get all the way up
