We speak with legal scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw about the historic presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, who is facing a slew of racist and misogynist attacks from Donald Trump and others as she runs to be the first woman and the first woman of color to occupy the White House. Crenshaw, who coined the term "intersectionality," says Harris's candidacy is leading to backlash from those who fear the emergence of a more diverse country. "The challenge is, quite clearly, that those who support Kamala Harris and those who support our democracy have to take back the ground that they have ceded in the war on woke," says Crenshaw, executive director of the African American Policy Forum.

Why aren’t they debating policies? The name calling is nothing new, and is a distraction from real issues. Affordable housing, living wages, healthcare, climate change, endless wars, education, student loan debt…
  • Who nominated Kamala? What democracy? Reject both oligarch puppet parties. Your strength is in working class solidarity.
  • Wait, what was racist about what he said? He was critical, but being critical isnt racist. He was also critical of Biden.

Isn't this woman verified to be bought off with foundation money?
  • Wow. Way to go on asking her absolutely ZERO tough questions. You could have at least brought up the fact that she bragged yesterday in Atlanta that she was to the right of Trump on immigration. I guess the racism and sexism inherent in those policies doesn’t concern elites like Crenshaw.

So, I heard no substantive reasons of why I should be voting for Kamala Harris. All I heard was, "Trump said mean things about her" thats it. That's literally it, this woman made no damn valid, relevant points as to why the working class should throw its weight behind Kamala Harris. The whole, "Our democracy is under threat" bullshit line is getting extremely obnoxious and tiring.

My problem with KH is her complicity with the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Am hoping she understands she is likely to LOSE the election if she does not at least speak up to that as she has for her plan as president to act on women’s right to choose! She needs to do and say she is against genocide and wars or it could be we end up with the opposition THAT IS REALITY‼️ Genocide and democracy do not factor ok?
  • How does the supremacy of neoliberalism, moderate democrats, and the status quo get left out this “movement”?
  • TFG rolled over for MBS and Putin and Xi and Bibi and Kim... and showed them his belly. He allowed them to walk all over him. He's telling you SHE is gonna look weak to the world? The man stood before the UN and watched them laugh in his face! 'Not the response I expected, but okay'... HE ISN'T STRONG & she isn't weak. HARRIS🇺🇲FOR🇺🇲 PRESIDENT

That is a burn that can leave a mark on your ear.
  • This isn’t about sexism it’s about people who support war crimes
  • This is embarrassing. Please bring Norman Finkelstein to challenge her
  • "Not wanting to share the country with everyone who is in it" - is true about the white nationalists in America, not so unlike Netanyahu and right wing extremists in Israel, unable to see the "other" as human - as eligible for equal rights, justice and freedom, as they are.
