This Wedding Video was a present for my wife, Rebecca Harris. It was played for all our family and friends at our wedding on Jun 29, 2014. There is a small slide show at the beginning of the video with pics of us and the kids over the last several years. I always wanted to sing to Becky on our wedding day, but a DJ sound system isn't the best platform for live music, and I'm not much into the Karaoke thing. Instead an original recording and video was made, so that even though the performance wasn't "live", I really did get to sing to my wife on our wedding day.
The song is our version of the Snow Patrol song "Chasing Cars". When I say "our" I mean the recording that I was lucky enough to do with my kids Griffen & Gabby Miller. I have recorded many many songs over the years, and have helped the kids work on band and solo projects of their own, however this was the first time that we worked on a song project together. Knowing that the song was going to be part of a video present for Becky, made it that much more of a special experience.
This song is a favourite, and just a brilliant, simple love song.
The original recording of "Chasing Cars" was released in 2006 on Snow Patrol's fourth album, Eyes Open, words and music by Gary Lightbody & Snow Patrol.
