In this video, I talk about how to use NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) to change how you talk to yourself and what to do with your negative internal dialogue. Often critical inner voice leads to negative thinking patterns and it’s important to learn to be able to change and adjust the way you communicate with yourself in order to stop negative thoughts and to change your feelings effectively.

Watched this a few weeks ago, and I've noticed a huge change in my attitude. I searched high and low to find this video again so I can save it for future use or as a reminder for myself! You did an amazing job and this was one of the most impactful videos I've seen on YouTube. Thank you so much Owen. You are awesome.
  • this guy is hilarious I wonder how I lived until now without him in my life hahahaha
  • really creative techniques for actually working through personal turmoil. this allows you to take responsibility for your own thoughts and empowers you to overcome them rather than looking to outside sources to place blame (media, upbringing, the universe, "disorders" etc) or to fix it all for us (medication, extensive therapy- distraction). thank you!
  • "(mocked voice) You're such a mess? (normal voice) and how do you know you're a mess? Are you ALWAYS a mess? Nah, you WERE a mess... and HE is a mess... BUT you are fabulous."

What a coincident! I just ordered the book from Amazon yesterday without knowing that you are one of the authors of the book!

10 years ago I was using these sorts of techniques regularly. Over time I fell out of these ‘good habits’. A friend suggested I watch this video and I’m so glad to have been reminded of what I’ve been missing. And the really good part? My internal dialogue didn’t berate me; just said I was silly for missing out, and congratulated me on being open to making a positive change.
  • Great video Owen! Both good learning AND humor at the same time. Love it :)
  • Great material and explanation! Loved your humor, and especially how you say "but" ....adorable

  • This is the best video i've see on destoying negative beliefs /self talk !!!Bravo!!!
  • I just saw this video for the first time.  I was looking for some effective ways to help a friend deal with her frustrating and sabotaging internal dialogue.   Many years ago, I became a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP, but I have not used it much in all this time.   I have had a few successes working with people, but I never took it off the ground professionally.   And though I was even successful doing NLP on myself after a hit-and-run crash that put me in the hospital and anchored some real generalized terror on the road that rendered me unable to drive confidently, I have allowed this obstacle of lack of confidence to stop me all this time.   It's never too late, so I can still tackle it . . . .but that's not what I'm writing about.   Owen, I LOVE this video and will be using the points this afternoon with my friend.  The video is precise, humorous, engaging, and I plan to watch more of your videos and visit your site.   Thank you for what you do.
