My mental health is at its worst right now and my body isn't much better either. So, I am sitting here, taking notes of everything Dr. Amen said because I'm only 24 and I have so much time left to live. I want to live a good life and I'm determined to make that happen. Starting with improving my mental and physical health.

"Genes are not a death sentence, they should be a wake up call' Truly brilliant!!!!
  • I’M NOT GOING TO BE IN LOVE WITH SOMETHING THAT HURTS ME. That resonated on so many levels.

Very sturdy in comparison to other strollers that we had. I get a lot of compliments for it. My baby loves being in the bassinet, The youtube.com/post/Ugkx4qZutfp1y5CaTUcMTuFPbARE5u-8X… stroller comfortable. I like the rain cover and the white net that comes with it. I use the rain cover just to cover the car seat when it rains. If your front wheels don't turn well, make sure you lubricate.

The singly most important thing to consider within each of the 4 aspects of life: 1. Biology: Is this good for my brain or bad for it? 2. Psychology: Is this true? (ask self for thoughts that pop into my head) 3. Social: What have I done today to enhance my relationships? 4. Spiritual: What am I doing today that's purposeful?
  • "I am not gonna be in love with something that hurts me" so powerful words!

My daughter developed severe anxiety after her divorce, she came to live with her mother and me (her) dad, she had a type of agorophobia and lived on the couch, I shared a tool with her that had set me free of a similar problem when I was in highschool. This is the discussion: Anxiety is an emotion that modulates "care, protection" for one's life, if it has stuck wide open for some reason you have to realize it is up to you to tone it down, it is in effect trying to over-protect you and often shuts you down mentally and sometimes physically, example; she could not drive out of our housing area onto the main highway due to insecure thoughts, that meant her mind was keeping her home, keeping her safe, once she realized what was transpiring she gradually worked through her fears and used that perspective to free her complete life, she actually took a trip a year later to Nepal, liked the culture and volunteered her services helping earth quake victums for almost a year. ( as a mechanic I never use a tool too big for the job). Anxiety is a tool used by the mind to accommodate you not to lock you down. Be thankful to your God for the kindness He has shown you and your loved ones every day, say it verbally to Him, He loves the fruit of your lips, your Praises to Him.
  • Very interesting.   I am 80, and still learning to let go of things I have carried in my mind, body and soul for so long.  This has helped, along with letting go of the past, release things that happen in your childhood.  It amazed me of what I had in my subconscious.Again thanks again.

I gave up my streaming services for the new year and took up reading and drawing instead. I can already see a huge difference in my cognitive functions. To think I have been harming my brain with all that binge watching. Thanks Tom for these podcasts.

I started my internship as a computer engineer and I told my supervisor that I'm not working productively. He told me that that's just part of engineering. It took a lot of energy just to read documents and datasheets. A few months later I saw a documentary about the effects of sugar. I realised that I consumed sugar almost every day. So I stopped. A few weeks later, I got so much engergy! My productivity skyrocketed!!
  • "I'm not a fan of positive thinking. I'm a fan of accurate thinking." Yes! Loved the things he would do if he were an evil ruler- perfect teaching tool!! This has been awesome! Dr. Amen is one of my heroes.
  • Hey TOm, Just wanted to say a quick thank you to you and your team, you´re really changing the lives of people all around the world. For example I´m flying to Munich today, from a small airport in northern Germany and at the table right next to me sits a person who is watching the Wim Hof Video. That was the moment I realized how many people actually watch Impact theory and how many people you have helped and still help develop a better mindset. I think I can speak for most of the people that watch your Videos from Europe, especially from Germany: Thank you very, very much.
  • Most thoughts are automatic. And before you know it,thoughts own you!!! Thoughts arise in the unconscious and we are late in being conscious about it.....! Without the deep practice of 'awareness'(mindful meditation),it is really tough to catch negative thoughts and work with them!!!
  • @MsCaterific
I just love how real and genuine you are, Thank you for being you and for what you do.

The sight of this man always put a smile on my face. There are so many changes in my life that I owe to Dr. Amen that I can hardly list them all here, but they all made me a happier and healthier person today. It was a long journey but I am truly glad doc was there to show me the way.

Tom, first off I also have the confusion of cold and anxiety. Second, THANK you for being so human❤. You ask great questions for all to relate to.
  • @timhunsche3422

  • “I am not a fan of positive thinking because positive thinking kills too many people” - Daniel Amen. A little anxiety is good. It makes you conscientious.
  • I love this Tom. I've always wondered why even in good times I've always had a feeling of uneasiness, anxiety and lack of peace...
