Thanks De-nice and AA-Ron for your great swimming demonstration
  • 1. I never thought someone could make swimming sound so interesting ! 2. I never been so emotionally invested in the skill journey of a 3D model Wow, good works, lads !

This commentary is actually amazing because it' points out they challenges of not only learning, but teaching, and the journey we are expected to face before we improve.

Swimming efficiently as you explain is difficult but I love the ups and downs of Aarons journey and your excellent analysis and guidance to him. Thanks
  • @inz_uzi
You got everything right - sinking legs, out of breath quickly - but my name is not A-a-ron! 😂
  • @johnferrara392
Been practicing a few years but still having breath problems. This video is very helpful!
  • This video is phenomenal for one reason only: the importance of fundamentals. Whether you're swimming an Iron man, competing in a 200 free, or swimming recreationally, if you're trying to get better there is no way you can skip the fundamentals
  • As usual I learned more from a 9 min youtube vid than a year in swimming school. Thank you!
  • The video is a blueprint for anyone who loves being in pools, beaches and lakes. Keep up the magnificent work coach! Peace 🕊️ Blesssings to everyone involved with your priceless podcast.

The key to swimming with less effort is to be so relaxed and comfortable in the water that you think you could literally take a nap, floating on your back, as if you were lying on a comfy water bed. Keeping a lot of air in your lungs is a key, so watch how you breathe. Air in lungs, you go up, exhale and you sink. To move in water, you only need to wave your hands a little bit. You don't need to move your arms in formal strokes that tire you out. If you get tired, just float in place and rest. Be patient and don 't worry about going fast. If you learn to relax enough, you could swim for days, if you needed. If you are in weeds, just float on your back, keeping your body near the surface, patiently untangle yourself a bit at a time, and inch your way through them. If you're not good at this, stay away from any areas with weeds, but if you are good at this, there are no weeds so thick that they stop you.

Now that I saw all this, I know there is a lot to learn and I'm excited to go swimming and exercise step by step. Thanks for motivation!

Thanks for this! I'm a long time runner who decided that i wanted to learn to swim as in adult, but I wasnt able to learn even after two whole beginner classes (20 1hr sessions). I struggled with my horizontal balance. Your video explained the science behind each step better than my instructor. Seasoned swimmers do not understand the short and sudden panic of not being able to get air between strokes. My instructor just told me "you'll get used to it". After 20 lessons plus some solo training, i still didnt "get used to it".😂

Wow, it's like he's telling my whole story of learning how to swim. 😂 Such a cerebral approach and discussion, amazing visuals. This channel is a gold mine; where have you been my whole life
  • @sameeragulshad
I liked this video in story telling way especially the breathing techniques. Mostly people focus on free style swimming arms and legs more. But for beginners breathing is more difficult where new joiners loose the battle.👍
  • I was a competitive swimmer from the age of 8 to 18. I can tell you that there are two critical skills in swimming that are hard to teach. 1) the pull: when your hand enters the water with your thumb slightly down and your elbow relaxed, you pull the water about 3-4 inches under the midline of your body in a slight S pattern and when your hand passes your navel you use your triceps to push all the way down. Pulling the water deeper, say 5 or 6 inches from your body is inefficient. If you master the pull, and it takes strong lats and endurance to do it, your body raises up and glides through the water with less resistance. 2) Pull/Kick coordination. This is fabulously difficult to teach. When you pull with one hand, you emphasize your down kicks with the opposite foot (kick harder and slightly deeper). This coordination generates great power between opposite hand/foot at the same time and keeps your body level, reducing resistance. If done correctly you should get the dip in the water where your mouth is when you turn your head to breathe, another bonus since you don't have to turn your head as far. Ive tried to show this to people over the years. Very few are able to adjust their technique to do it.

How can someone be so relatable?? How do u know every problem that i face?? So much thnku 4 this
  • @ivet6032
As someone trying to overcome her aqua phobia this video gives me a lot of necessary information and hope to keep going. Thanks! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
  • Great series and as I feel getting relaxed with breathing and body position is so fundamental at start. I often know what I need to do but with swimming it is often so hard to visualise and achieve the subtle changes and repeat to improve. Your clearer explanations and excellent drills (especially dryland with emphasis on necessary flexibity and strength) is the way forward 👍🙏🏻
