For all the people asking, yes a cold sore is HSV-1 type herpes. It's not the one people usually talk about (transmitted sexually), which would be HSV-2, and it's not as bad as HSV-2. There's a lot of ways of catching this type of herpes and it's not only by kissing the wrong person. helloo i've been getting cold sores ever since middle school and ive tried everything! the best way to cure them / slow them down seriously is : when you first get the feeling youre getting one grab a icecube and hold it on that spot until it melts, its going to burn after words and start to blister which is good. right after use tea tree oil all day multiple times around every one hour! day two use the oil all am, at pm make a green tea bag and put the bag in a papertowel and hold it against the cold sore until the bag is cold, about 30 mins later it should be scabbed by this time (if not keep repeating those first two steps) grab aquaphor baby healing ointment lol and put that on the rest of the day and use the tea tree oil a couple times. keep repeating the aquaphor until the scab falls off! i hope that helped:)

I use lemon. It may hurt, but it will go away quicker.

Take L Lysine largest dose you can find in vitamin section, as soon as you feel tingling. Take it 3x a day until gone. This is the best thing I've ever found to stop the cold sore in it's track.
