We love the theme parks (that's why we have a whole other channel dedicated to them) but there is so much more fun to be had in Florida. Your Florida vacation should include Florida beaches, Florida springs and Florida land activities.

Watch and subscribe to Rix Road Trips for travel planning and vacation planning. If you're in the mood for adventure travel, see what we have to offer. Next time you're on your Florida vacation, plan a fun excursion to the great outdoors.

Subscribe to Rix Road Trips to discover exciting things to do on your next Florida vacation.

Adventure is out there, you'll find it on a road trip. Click that subscribe button.

Thanks for showcasing home. Port orange is a great little local area too!
  • I went 8 years ago to Daytona Beach with my lovely wife to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary and it was cold but we loved it. You’re lucky Rick as you’re a local Florida boy who went a lot more than I did. But my first real trip to Daytona Beach back in 1988 right before I was discharged from the Army. I had a great vacation. Lots of memories on the boardwalk.

I've spent many a summer on Daytona Beach! The pier and boardwalk was a lot if fun. We would drive down from Boston. Been quite awhile since I've been there though, I miss that beach 😞

Great video!! My beautiful beach moved here over 4 years ago best move ever 🥰❤️ the nicer condos are in daytona beach shores by us ❤️❤️❤️
  • I know 5 yrs ago in 2018, the open area by the pier was an amusement park until they had a terrible accident on the rollercoaster with tourists from Kentucky.😢

I've alway's thought that a Sky Wheel Ferris Wheel would be nice for Daytona Beach like what they have for Orlando,Myrtle Beach and Atlantic City.I was at Myrtle Beach in January last year and the hotels off season was super cheap there, the weather was obviously cooler but nice, usually sunny in the high 50s,low 60s.

Pretty good. However, I am a dedicated Daytona Beach person as I love it here. I would have mentioned how clear the water is also how nice and blue the ocean is here. Also, how there are SO MANY Pelicans here!!! Also, how amazing the varying colors are in the clouds formations during the evening as the sun sets. I've never seen such amazing could formations here...and again...the amount of Pelicans as they glide prehistorically all along the coast line both having fun gliding and also looking for some delicious seafood! One last thing...and it's an amazing "thing".....the beach is like Rick said...a nice soft hard-pack, and here is the great thing...is that the beach is quite flat and this flatness goes out into the ocean for a really long ways...therefore it is shallow for a long way out, and the water is a clean clear blue color and very clear from the beach all the way out. The water is almost always very mellow and great for kids, even really young kids. I just love how clear and blue the Atlantic Ocean is here.

We've been to both Crabbies and to Land Shark!! Prefer Crabbies; but love the Jimmy Buffet everything about Land Shark!! Our daughter lives in the area and we actually go every year from Indiana!! Your video is great!!
  • When you go to Clearwater, hubby and I recommend pelican pointe. The rooms are relatively inexpensive and they are right across the street from the beach. And sandys bar and grill has amazing food.

My parents moved to Daytona in 1965....when I was 10 !! Daytona in the 60's and 70's was a wonderful safe place to grow up ! Open beaches to everything......dogs-----fire pits.....huge picnics.....you could surf anywhere and fish all over........A1A was a 2 lane road and everyone was nice !!! The 80's ruined this town with out of control spring breaks....as the kids destroyed the motels over time and the greedy owners didn't put the money back into their places and for the next 20 yrs the town went down hill !!! Seems in the last few years new owners and new money have started to slowly build the place back.......we shall see !!! Still there are places we love to go in town ......golf courses.....the beach on the north and south end.......fishing the river and the inlet......many places to eat and of course Bike week and Race week !!! I'm a biker so have been to almost every Bikeweek event since 1970
