Pinned comment for things I missed! -to clarify, Dedf1sh's first name is Ahato, last name Mizuta. In the video I flipped the ordering for Taichi's name (in the book it was written Sawaberu Taichi) but didn't do the same for Dedf1sh, whoops! -one more off-handed example of an artist with no music: in the second artbook, it was mentioned there's an urchin punk rock band that performed at starfish mainstage. the japanese name of starfish mainstage, as well as the logo on the stage, references sea urchins instead of starfish, so this makes sense.

"Dude, you play Splatoon?" "Yes i am" "What did it teach you?" "Mmm piracy..."
  • @pufflemaster348
"song names may be related to the gameplay on the stages" The perfect example of this: #8 r e g r e t
  • Dang, the idea that Dedf1sh just wonders around, still making music after she's been sanitized is really creepy...
  • @ghoulishtoad
so if deadf1sh knows all music that means is both classically trained and can do some brutal ass metal breakdowns if she wanted
  • @chirpy5133
Cant wait to also dump this lore on my poor friends who dont even play splatoon
  • @evilyoshimaster
Honestly I love the idea that Pearl was the previous Sashimori vocalist because it either means that Marina brought out the best in her and that's why she doesn't control their music that much, or that despite her control freak tendencies, she has such strong faith in her partner that she can let her write without taking control.
  • @chantolove
Voice samples instead of vocals... Paul’s just a YTP maker isn’t he
  • @FeeshUnofficial
Side order really puts both d3df1sh and Marina in completely new lights with the lore, I love it

In Japan, Turquoise October is called OCTOTOOL. This is probably a reference to the band Tool but maybe I’m reading too much into it Anyways now whenever I listen to Tool music I think of splatoon so yeah🐙
  • @moss-eater
on page 196 of the Splatoon 2 art book, the page about starfish main stage, there’s mention of a sea-urchin punk band having recently played there. it’s probably just some one off thing but i thought it was interesting.
  • @braindedc0rpse
Who else has a thing of blabbering about random video game lore to your friends? Cause I do.
  • @sch.noodles
The idea of Paul and Ahato being siblings made me really sad, especially thinking about Paul probably escaped while she did not, and maybe he even learned his music skills from her. Just a fun headcanon to explore :)
  • @beth5627
So here's my theory for the CoroCoro songs: Ikkan, former member of the squid squad, tried to go solo after the band broke up. For what I know, Bassists can easily learn to play other guitars and for the drums, he could've just used a drumboard or drumset or idk how it's called. This theory is based on nothing but the fact that Ikkan used to be very passionate about music and I'm not sure that you can stop producing music if you're that invested in it. So maybe this came from a time between his Squid squad and his DissPair Time :3
  • @islar7420
I was wondering if the companies whose advertisements you see in many stages have some lore behind them. Seeing how there is this much lore about bands, there surely must be something about that?
  • @MarVthe1
Man, I love Diss-Pair, such a great duo, too bad they got overshadowed by SashiMori
  • @ItzYaBoiMop
ok but i wanna know even more about the low water party like- you cant just tell me dedf1sh was just there in the shadows and dj octavio and callie also randomly showed up. gosh, why does splatoon have so much lore.
  • @FrankEShaw05
Wait so if Octavio and Callie were at the deep sea rave than does that mean octavio’s cool now?! Like how did either one of them agree to collaborate together
  • @squidbeak
Seeing the idol group at 20:45 has me thinking, what is it with idols in the splatoon universe and having matching beauty marks? Both the squid sisters and off the hook have them too!
  • @Rakrune
Ok so hear me out. Warabi and ikkan should be the idols for splatoon 3. They're chaotic in relationship, making them a perfect fit, and dude idols would be an awesome change for the next game.
