I Tried the WORST Fallout Game EVER in 2024 (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel)

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is a Fallout game released in 2004 that went straight to console and was developed mostly with the home console market in mind. However, it is also frequently regarded as the worst possible Fallout game in existence. The game suffered from poor sales despite major gaming outlets of it's time giving it decent reviews (they're lying, no shot they played this). So being the Fallout guy I am, I decided it was finalyl time to put my money where my mouth is and try playing through this... thing and see if it was actually any good. I did not make it 10 minutes. This version I'm playing is Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel PS2, and I'm using the PCSXE 2 emulator to play the game. Even if I had the hardware, I would never actually buy this in physical format lol.
This was Interplay's one and only Fallout entry into the console market. Released on PS2 and XBOX, the game had a sequel planned just after it's release, but it was eventually cancelled due to the poor sales of this game. It was developed in the same engine from the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance game, as both were Interplay properties at that time. This game is not solely responsible for the downfall of Interplay, but it most likely did not help the original Fallout publisher regain any sort of footing in the Video Game Industry.

This game definitely deserves a full on remake. There’s tons of potential due to the Dark Alliance parts, but damn it’s full of fumbles.

Did Bethesda retcon this game? Because in Fallout 3 New Vegas and 4 Brotherhood see ghouls as threats.

Oh man...they did what buldars gate picked when they tried the ps2...but unlike them there is clearly little care or thought...or skilled people given to this game.

Its not such a bad game tbh. Everyone just wants to copy the popular opinion. For a ps2 game its great.
