Many of our favorite heavy-music artists are also obsessive vinyl collectors. We've asked some of them to show us their most prized records, the variants they probably spent way too much money on and would run into a burning building to save — their "vinyl to die for." Nate Garrett, singer-guitarist of trad-metal outfit Spirit Adrift, is such an avid vinyl enthusiast that he couldn't choose just one. Get an up-close look at his treasured 'Danzig II' and Megadeth 'Rust in Peace' LPs.

Such classics, both of them. And yes lets get good solid heavy music back to the forefront!
  • Lucifuge is my fav Danzig album thanks to "Devil's Plaything", "Blood & Tears" and "Killer Wolf"
  • They were popular at the time. About half of my school listened. The other half were boy band Paula Abdul fansvrap fans or country. That Megadeth Album converted me from hair to thrash metal overnight. My bro Brady played Holy War for me and it was over. I became such a Megadeth fan I got a crap job as a Roadie on the Aerosmith Megadeth Whirlwimd of Texas tour in 93. Was Always a Danzig fan as my cousins were into punk and the Misfits were my fave when we all hung out. I've seen both so many times I cant tell you not counting the road gig. Even saw a group of young kids open up for Glenn when he toured for Danzig 4 with Marilyn Manson, you may have heard of Korn. Nothing like seeing them in a small converted movie theater. I've seen their stadium shows but that small venue show was sick. It was the 90's though so pits became the entire crowd. Sorry for droning on. Just an old man and metal memories

Nate, 100% agree on Rust in Peace, I bought it on tape in 90 and it is still amazing.
  • @Gusto349.
Anything on How the Gods Kill album still rocks hard

This is awesome! I absolutely love seeing artists who are into records and particularly like seeing their music/HiFi gear. Great idea!

Those two exact albums changed my life back in '90 when I was just a kid... I support that last sentiment about making heavy music popular again, if those bands weren't popular back then, I and many other kids wouldn't have discovered such awesome music.
  • Dude that is awesome just seen y'all in Baton Rouge but love you're music taste I totally agree
  • @malakhalakh5282
Both fantastic and groundbreaking albums! Have them both...unfortunately not on vinyl...!

2 of my absolute favorites as well, unfortunately I had to buy a boot of Danzig II and got the newer version of Rust In Peace (kinda quiet and bass heavy, not really a fan) But I also picked up Enlightened In Eternity and it SOUNDS FANTASTIC! my favorite record of 2020 by far!

Dang .The Danzig CD had a triple gatefold that unfolds to an upside down cross.! I can't believe the vinyl didn't do that.Would look good next to the Moses album that unfolds to an upright cross!
  • @skullfacemorte
Lucifuge is the best album from that line up! All 4 albums are classics are need a vinyl reissue!

I have both of these albums, original pressings, got them back then when I was a young teen. Saw both of those bands during that time as well. Danzig with Soundgarden and Corrosion of Conformity. Megadeth with Alice In Chains. Both records are also signed. Lucifuge by Glenn and Rust in Peace by Mustaine and Marty. And I agree 100% with Rust in Peace being the best metal album ever. I’m at a coin toss between Slayer and Megadeth for best Big 4 band. But none of the Big 4 bands come close to Rust in Peace. Not even Megadeth’s other albums. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
