Add me on Blend: blend.la/ (iOS & Android) and I'll add you to my SFV Training Group! My SN is gootecks.
Street Fighter V can be intimidating for new players. This is part one of a three part tutorial series from gootecks aimed at beginners. Part I is all about offense, Part II is about defense, and part III is about throws. We're going to be using Ryu since he is the best character for new players to start with. It's an honor getting taught by the PogChamp himself.

Gootecks, you are a beautiful man with a beautiful soul. The noobs of the FGC thank you dearly.

Dude, I'm not familiar with your channel, but this was exactly what I wanted: A guide to help me start playing Street Fighter V. You see, I'm from the MK series, but I really wanted to play Street Fighter. I know i'm a little bit late, but I still want to enjoy the game. Thx for helping me out
  • @alexx196z5
I just started to play 2 days ago and I am getting my ass handed.. But hey, the answer lies in the heart of battle, right.
  • @minD3co
I know I'm kinda late to the SFV party, but I just started and this helped me a lot. Thanks!
  • @Grohlvana
Great video! You're an excellent teacher! Just picked up SFV and it's my first fighting game, I'm completely lost but you helped out a lot.

While I'm not a beginner, I still want to give this a watch to see if I can either show it to other people, or if they can't watch it for whatever reason, to pass on the knowledge the way the teacher puts it.

wow for years i have been trying to get into street fighter but now i am commited to getting good and i have sat in training room for about 2 hours and still having gotten the hadouken consistent but I am going to play until I get it

Dude! You're the first "Beginners' Guide" that i found that is TRULY aimed at beginners. Plus you're an amazing teacher that eases in more complex stuff slowly and clearly... Usually, those kind of videos are mostly like: "To play Ryu, it's super easy, you just need, to super EX dash cancel into Shoryuken and combo from double EX V-Trigger critical art crouch cancel to Forword dash forward Shinku Hadouken"... To which i respond.... "huh... Qu'est-ce que c'est?!?!?" :O

This 30 minute video has taught me WAY more than half of the beginner videos on YouTube! I bought this game last week and found this EXTREMELY helpful as I am painfully new! I love the way this game plays and its not confusing like MvC3 or DBFZ. I think having 1 character is better than having 3 with assists and tag ins. Thank you SO SO much for this vid Goo! You rock. Subbed! 🙏
  • @WynnyelleLOL
Thank you for doing this! I loved watching Street Fighter 4 streams and events and now that SFV is out I am excited to actually start playing fighting games. I'm going to need all the help I can get, so I really appreciate content like this. Keep up the great work!

Good stuff Gootecks! Many people try to do tutorials like this, but few are able to pull it off.  You have a great gift for teaching!
  • Can't express how much this whole video made sense to me. I walked away feeling like I finally have a general understanding of how the game works on a basic level. I was trying to find other beginner videos but they didn't really explain it how you did for someone who's a novice. I put some time into SF4 almost 10 years ago but I pretty much forgot most of what I learned and was trying to find something to get me ready for when 6 comes out
  • @CarInMyAss
I had to take like a year or so break from fighting games and I'm glad I came back and you're doing tutorials for the new games. I still remember you hanging out in our room at final round the year that Street Fighter 4 came out and you and Mike were hanging together. Had a blast hanging out with you guys. I remember one of you having one of those little dedicated video recorders that's pretty much what a smartphone is now LOL. But I remember your Street Fighter 3 players the Street Fighter 4 guide and you did a good job with that so it's nice to see you doing the same thing with this one

tfw Gootecks starts the video of staring into your soul
  • @anwmus
Gootecks, you are a brilliant author. You really need to start making paperback or hardback copies of the street fighter guide! The techniques i've learnt from the electronic version works like a charm. I am sure they will sell well in the UK like hot cakes!
  • @GeckoOrDie
This is what i need. Reddit is awesome but not for beginners. But this kind of content is MANDATORY to not miss steps during the learning process. Thank you dood. One more subscriber.
