Salsa Fingerpicking Patterns for the Ukulele

For today's lesson we are going to be looking at some salsa grooves. They are four in total, each one is. vamp, meaning they are all going to be played over just one chord, the E7, but you can feel free to modify these play them over chord progressions as well. The BPM that we are playing at is quite slow, that way you can get it under your fingers, but know if you are actually going to be using this in our own composition or to be playing covers you are more than likely going to be playing it quite a bit faster.

The examples are two examples with the 2-3 clave and then two examples with the 3-2 clave. Each example is actually built off it itself, showing you how to take the first rhythm and then slightly modify it to extend it. Another thing to keep in mind is that all fingerpicking patterns used to day are completely interchangeable and sound great when mixed together. You can play each ukulele fingerpicking pattern by itself or you can also mix the ukulele fingerpicking patterns, too.
