We didn't cover a few of the single armor piece abilities - such as the champion tunics ability to allow master sword beams when not at full hearts!! We'll cover more of these in future episodes as they relate - thanks for watching!! :_CrotonTriforce:

A note about the slip resistance buff: Climbing on ice does not receive any benefits from the buff, and you will still slip after roughly 3 seconds of climbing even with a level three buff. The only way to help with not slipping while climbing on ice is to get the slip proof set bonus, which completely negates all slipping, even on ice.

Never used the elemental armor because I assumed it was just a worse way of getting attack up when I already had the barbarian set, good to know it's actually kinda useful.
  • @Aigis31
The Rupee Padding armor's best use is that dyeing it changes Link's hair color, so you can cosplay Super Saiyan 3 Goku with it.

Honestly feels like the mystic armor was supposed to be leveled up at some point, because if it follows the 3 defense armor upgrade path each piece would be 20 defense at level 4, so 60 defense plus the rupee padding, and if there had been a set bonus then whatever that would have been. It’s a shame too because if you get it early, you probably wont have the money to use it, and if you get it later on you’ll have way better armor to choose from.

I assumed the Gloom Attack Resist was (in addition to the fourth ward heart) also reducing gloom based physical attacks by some percent value. It's a really weirdly named effects if it really does nothing to gloom attacks. The elemental attack buffs are also weird. The descriptions on the food items that can give you those buffs specifically mentions your muscles, so it's another weird case if it doesn't effect your physical damage at all.

The fact that it’s called wake wind made my face smile so hard
  • I’m trying to remember what armor sets could be considered “spoilers,” but the only one that comes to mind is the one you get when beating all the shrines.

Your Stats of the Wild series was what got me convinced to finally cave in and buy a Switch for Tears of the Kingdom (and Breath of the Wild via game voucher) and I love all the practical ways in which I get to utilize this knowledge: -killing high-rank enemies and overworld bosses with the knowledge of the EXP system and the better weapons it will eventually give me -using ice/fire weapons as temperature protection in the desert/mountains without need for specific clothes or food -upgrading armor because I know how low Link's HP actually are when compared to enemies and the weapons they wield (this may sound obvious to others, but as a Zelda veteran I am used to "enemies usually do only a quarter, a half or a full heart at damage, just max out your heart containers and you're fine") -increasing my damage output (therefore, wasting less durability) through tactics like mounting lynels, sneakstriking, ice-shattering and using hammers against rock-based enemies I'd love to see more videos on Fuse (this might be too niche as a topic, but I'd like to know which materials on which weapons result in which name of the fused weapon? Like how there's reapers and blades, or sledges and pulverizers, or hammers, pounders and smashers)
  • Great work as usual, Croton! So few buffs scale by the increments you think they're going to, it's great to have hard numbers with clean visuals.
  • @sledgen.
totk's armour buffs are so interesting to me, and I didn't even know about some of the set bonuses until recently!
  • I was just about to have breakfast and play ToTK, thank you so much. You will forever be my favorite zeldatuber

Glad you didn't show the major spoilers. This game is huge and I've gotten through barely a fraction of it so far
  • One interesting thing I've noticed about climbing in the rain is that jumping, while it does cause a slip, seems to reset the timer for slips during normal climbing. So, if you go a few seconds, then jump/slip, you can start a new bit of climbing with a fresh slip timer and repeat.

Poppin' in the comments to pay my respects to the G.O.A.T. of Breath of the Tears of the Wild Kingdom science. Also trying to do my part to combat the YouTube algorithm.
  • I'd never thought I'd ever hear a Layton song in a stat video for a Zelda game, but here I am.

Ahhh nothing better than a Stats of the Kingdom video while having lunch! Thank you Croton for these high-quality videos that help us so much in this fantastic game! :))
