Bioinformatics Club | 8.06 - Pipeline development

This is a recording of the second meeting of the IBRE Bioinformatics Club which took place on 8 June 2023. During this meeting, we discussed specialized languages for developing and executing the bioinformatic pipelines. We talked about the pros and cons of using such languages, as well as advantages and disadvantages of commonly used ones - Nextflow, Snakemake, and CWL.

IBRE Bioinformatics Club is a public meeting of the bioinformatics community dedicated to discussion of important topics in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, and beyond.

  • Thank you.....this is a strange field, the sector is filled with "Square Pegs in a Round Holes" - let state in simple term, most folks in this sector do not have the capacity to comprehend what's multithread really means in terms of compute, and most platform and tools are single thread.....even in 2024!!!! that's states how far these folks have mask this sector....sorry that's the truth.
